HalleLouja · 11/07/2012 20:03

Has anyone bought anything.

I was eyeing up these

Twist Dress

Sundial Dress

I am short-ish and have big norks. Liked the stuff I bought last time.

I'd never even heard of Great Plains. I am off for a nosey now though......

MorrisZapp · 11/07/2012 21:47

Is Great Plains an actual shop? I thought it was an in-house brand at John Lewis.

ConstanceChatterley · 11/07/2012 21:51

GP is sister brand of French Connection I believe.

Halle I have tried both of those before - twist dress, thin and poor quality jersey I thought (the kind that shows every kind of lump and bump) but sundial dress better but felt a little synthetic and print wasn't my style so didn't keep.

I did buy this chambray shirt when it was full price and have worn it loads - is lovely, soft and slightly sheer. Gets lots of compliments.

thehairybabysmum · 11/07/2012 21:54

I love Great Plains stuff, I have bought the Jaipur spot shorts and earlier this yr bought the frill sleeve t-shirt in two colours. V flattering neckline for big norks!

ConstanceChatterley · 11/07/2012 21:56

These shorts also ridiculously flattering for some unknown reason and absolute bargain at £11.

LadyEmmaHamilton · 11/07/2012 22:04

how do the sizes come up? I am thinking of this in macchiato. I am a distinct pear shape.

jumpinghoops · 11/07/2012 22:16

I find it really bizarre how they change their prices around- I looked at this last week, but was busy at work and couldn't buy at the time. It was a bargainous £19.50 at the time- log back in this eve to find it at £57. Most odd!

ujjayi · 11/07/2012 23:04

Oh I want that Boheme tunic really badly but it has sold out. Not sure how I feel about the more floaty version.

cocolepew · 11/07/2012 23:17

I wanted that tunic too. I wish places would remove the item if they are sold out.

mirpuppet · 11/07/2012 23:18

How is sizing? I'm a 12-14 trying to decide between medium and large on a couple of dresses. I'm pear shaped -- small on top/ wide on bottom.

4aminsomniac · 12/07/2012 07:59

I have just bought the dress, and think it is good. Fabric isn't that great, but very slimming style as the twist bit is around the narrowest part of your ribcage. I am small of boob, but think bigger ones would only improve the look!

SkinnyMalinkiLongLegs · 12/07/2012 11:46

I bought the twist dress last week ( when it was £25.00 Envy.

It is very flattering (I also have big norks).

Moknicker · 12/07/2012 11:54

ConstanceC and others, how do the shorts/clothes size up? Im in between an 8&10 - should I size up or down?

HalleLouja · 12/07/2012 12:32

I am a 12 and got medium last time.

ConstanceChatterley · 12/07/2012 17:06

Moknicker Sizing is same as French Connection if that helps - I'd say on the large/generous side. Definitely size down on the shorts - I bought the 10 and I'm a 12 everywhere else. Definitely get the 8.

madammecholet · 12/07/2012 17:16

I got this Breton t in
navy tis lovely...

ConstanceChatterley · 12/07/2012 18:25

Also tried that breton Mmecholet - would agree, lovely and surprisingly substantial fabric too. Unfortunately the foldover short sleeves did nothing for my shot-putters arms.

ConstanceChatterley · 12/07/2012 18:29

Have also purchased thisbelt - super cute and bargain at £6.50.

mirpuppet I would go for a medium if it is an unfitted relaxed style. If it is a dress that is fitted through the waist/has a side-zip, you might want to order a large, particularly if above a C cup.

Moknicker · 12/07/2012 20:08

Thank you ConstanceChatterley.

mirpuppet · 12/07/2012 20:19
