Hen Night dress, for grumpy old caaaah

Have to go on an hen night (overnight jobby). They are all 20-yr old party girls and I'm a 40yr old grumpy old wagon! Anyway, nothing in my wardrobe will do, so need something cheap & cheerful!

I normally wear shift dresses, but was considering this in navy in an attempt to fake some bubby enthusiasm! What do ye think?

Am 5'4" sz 14 with big boobs, bingo wings and mummy tummy. Legs OK, hips OK. I am apple shaped if anything, but have been low-carbing for 6 months or so, so the stomach area has improved a lot... Do like a sleeve.

Would very much appreciate some help!! Ta

I think I would be aiming to dress a bit more sophisticated to avoid direct comparison with the 20-somethings and their youthfulness! Do you like blue pied a terre bargain
oasis LBD with lace sleeves
floral, great styled with opaques as in photo
bird print warehouse £10!
coral

I see what your saying... I do like the warehouse dress but they don't have my size. What about this one or Portas mad pattern

They have got size 14 in the bird one but 5-7 day delivery. I like both that you linked to as well though...

I had the same dilemma a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what your budget is but I wore this curled my ratty long hair with roots showing poped on my highest heels and entered the room to a chorus of 'well hello yummy mummy' Grin

Come up very large in sizes though, i am a 12-14 curvy girl and anything larger than the small drowned me. also am generous of nork and a similar height to you.

FauxFox · 12/07/2012 12:51

I adore that dress funble but can't justify it at the mo...sigh...

Freshletticia · 12/07/2012 17:33

The Portas is too hi-necked if you have big boobs. Try a scoop neck, esp empire line, or a deep v neck wrap dress.
If it is short then wear leggings underneath and heels.

Freshletticia · 12/07/2012 17:35

Ahh, funble that one is empire line. See what I mean?

Iatemyskinnyperson · 12/07/2012 18:09

Cheers everyone! I found the warehouse bird dress in store here, added a pair of nude heels from New Look and I'm all set!!
Might add a tan belt if I can be bothered. Half a can of hairspray, nice bright lippie and ta daaah!!

Thank you all v much. I plan to park my generous arse on a barstool and drink copious amounts of gin. Wink
