What do I wear to Pilates class?

Not really style or beauty, I know but I don't want to look more of a prat than I will already look. If I wear running leggings and a top will I look out of place? Footwear? I am a total beginner and may hate it so not keen on shelling out for special clothes or shoes

I wear running leggings, lycra bra top and a lycra top over that and trainers for Pilates. Some wear the same as me and others wear trackie bottoms (soft jersey type) and t shirts. I go into the gym afterwards so don't want to be changing.

The class I used to go to you needed to be barefoot (or at least the teacher preferred it), then I wore a t-shirt and trackie bottom type things. Whatever you feel comfortable in and can move in!

That sounds fine. Barefoot is the norm.

I would wear an extra layer for warm up/cool down too.

Do you have a mat to take? I like to take my own (cos of the barefoot thing Smile) They are on eBay for about £7, including a bag to carry it in. .

Anything goes.

Leggings/ jogging bottoms/ t-shirt/ vest. You don't have to wear a sports bra either.

I wear socks, my feet tend to cramp otherwise. Also I leave my hair down, as you are lying flat on your back a lot of the time and ponytails or any other sort of hair up at the back gets in the way. I sometimes just wear a stretchy hairband to keep it out of my eyes when bending/lying on my front.
