DH doesnt work the hours he does because of financial pressure, he does it because he is obsessed with climbing the greasy pole. Buying me stuff assuages his guilt about it, so who am I to stand in the way of that Wink

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:17

like the look of this belt too. You know I love wearing metal skinny belts with workwear. One day I will buy a vintage chanel chain belt.

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:18

haha Amber yes agree with your analysis. Grin

Men are so driven by work success its a defining feature.

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:20

But I also regularly have my ear bent by men on big incomes (150K and upwards) moaning about how stressed they are about money - school fees is the big one especially if they have 2-3 DC. I have to say I dont have much sympathy really although I nod in all the right places of course.

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:26

I really pressure DH to giveme money for stuff we need. We are finally getting a joint account as I am sick of him accusing me of wasting money he gives me - he has no idea how much our life costs and I will enjoy educating him!

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:37

It was this tank in pale orange. Nicer in RL - come on sun!

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:46

Maison Scotch sale preview worth a look

pickledsiblings · 21/07/2012 11:51

Smart move about the joint account GoS. Huge congrats on your big deal, you are so hardworking that you really should treat yourself to something with your bonus minus the guilt.

Hopefully, those pencil cases are divine, you are very talented and have such a good eye for print and colour, even if you don't get to wear it much Smile.

Always, hope your DS is OK and not too worried about his eye. Such a shock for you all I'm sure but hopefully resolvable and soon. Thinking of you. How old is DS btw?

Bloss, now that you've got the go ahead on the shirt and shorts look from Ollie (so Envy at your lovely family bike ride on the Ile de Re with your sexy French speaking DH) you can commit yourself fully to buying a white shirt Smile. Why don't you just order loads from JL, HoF and Selfridges, you're bound to find the one.

Big wave to the rest of you, great to see some fake tanning going on in preparation for the sun. Just me as DS2 here for the next 2 days...he has been busying himself in the garden playing pirates draped in an old scarf of mine; my DC have great fun with my cast offs.

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 11:57

Thanks Pickled :)

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 12:01

potential treat?

pickledsiblings · 21/07/2012 12:12

Would be totally fab on you, I say do it!

AmberNectarine · 21/07/2012 12:17

That's the dress Choogirl bought - is absolutely gorgeous. Joseph have lots of lovely new season stuff in actually, as do LKB. Agree with picked that you very much deserve a treat annie. My RTW bonus is going to have to go on work clothes as I have precisely 2 pairs of trousers and one shirt which fit, and one of those pairs of trousers is from Next

Hopefully · 21/07/2012 12:24

gos I am obsessing over that Joseph dress, have been thinking about it all week. Might have to order just to prove to myself that it isn't quite right (and keep fingers crossed that it isn't quite right!). The bugger is that if I place a my-w order, I will have to order these and this. Which would take the order up to a rather alarming figure.

Ha, I have just clocked the name of the green trousers, as you said decam Grin

My Dh is the least career obsessed person ever - which works for us, as I was never that into a traditional career ladder (I come from a family of self employed people, which I never even noticed until SE pointed out how un-alarmed I was at being self employed!), so I don't think we would have seen eye to eye on any workaholism tendencies.

It's so weird not having the boys here. We have achieved so much already! I'd forgotten how easy it is to clean the bathroom/do the laundry/sew a quilt/speak to DH without two small clamouring people! Miss them though, obi Grin

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 12:28

But maybe this has my name on it!

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 12:30

Hopefully the pockets on those jeans maybe a bit small?

Portia4 · 21/07/2012 12:52

Bloss saw this and thought of you!

girlsofsummer · 21/07/2012 13:22

choo must have amazing work wardrobe! So many nice dresses.

petitdonkey · 21/07/2012 13:23

Dearest W&A ladies,

It's been ages since I posted but some of you may remember me. Have had a stint where I struggled a bit with life etc (depression is crap!) but am slowly returning to the world! Have just spotted some of you on Pinterest so thought I should out myself as your new stalker.

Loving the links as always but struggle to keep up!!

My best recent purchases are two jackets in the My Wardrobe sale (Preen and D&G - get me!) and DH rather fabulously got me a large black 2.55 which i am shamelessly showing off about Grin

Will try to catch up on all of your news and wave a big hello to all those of you I don't yet know x

Hopefully · 21/07/2012 13:55

gos do you mean the back pockets? Hadn't thought about that.

Hopefully · 21/07/2012 13:55

portia I saw those bags, I think they're great!

AmberNectarine · 21/07/2012 13:57

Hi petit, I wondered where you had gone - you always posted such lovely links! Welcome back!

GoS the D&G more 'you' I think, though that is coming from someone who has never met you...

hopefully I really like that sweater, such a fab colour. Zara did jeans very like that last AW, nearly bought them but could only source a 12 which was too big. Might be worth keeping an eye out?

DH has managed to consign himself to the dog-house once more but shouting at me because he was running late Hmm. The thing that annoys me is he repeat offends and then doesn't understand why a simple 'sorry' doesnt mean his bad behaviour is immediately swept under the carpet. I think the mark of being sorry would be not doing it every time.

blossoming · 21/07/2012 14:15

Hi petit, what are your initials on Pin?

petitdonkey · 21/07/2012 14:20

R.I

Hopefully · 21/07/2012 15:50

So. Leather leggings. Do we think that matt ones or shiny ones are better?

Decameron · 21/07/2012 15:52

Hi Petit, (it's carciofi of the scarves :)) welcome back and sorry you were having a hard time. I've just started following you on pinterest (S Mc).

DH was working until a short while ago. The FSA rules our lives, I may as well accept it. He has now taken the girls out to the park, so I'm happy.

Lovely dresses, GoS, go for it!

Ants, have a great holiday.
