here she is. Definitive how to wear I'd say!

notyummy · 15/07/2012 19:29

Oooh Hopefully - how exciting. Your weekend sounds great.

Reallly hope dd is better soon Decam.

Bloss - the problem is, MK can look good in ....pretty much anything, no? I am still swaying on them...

Amber - fingers crossed that more some time for you is on the way. You certainly deserve it.

SE - that sounds like such a great night.

Am exhausted after manic weekend. Major leaugue entertaining and clearing up, lots of jobs yesterday plus a birthday party which was an hour's drive each way yesterday. Today was DD's first gumnastic competition, then a change in the loos and straight over to her birthday party! She had a great time and is currently reading her new Rainbow Fairy 'Olympics Fairy' Hmm book. They don't miss a trick, do they? I refuse to read those books anymore, which means I don't have to put up with the sugary tatt.

DOna thanks for Overdressed recommendation I got it and just read it really interesting. Feel inspired not to buy. She is very anti polyester etc but natural fibres not all good either. I love silk but animal lovers might object.

But now, more than ever, I so want to buy a sewing machine - starting to sew has been on my to do list for ages!

Glad to hear of all the good weekends (mostly!) I had super busy day yesterday with DH and kids including party (DC came too) today I have just chilled out all day at home - lush!

Funny the whole fads thing, the last really faddy thing I succumbed to was buying pink jeans. Wore them quite a bit now just feel like I might never really wear them much again, ok it could be the bad weather but think its more than that. Not my best buy.

girlsofsummer · 15/07/2012 21:19

Miranda Kerr has amazing body, she is very fit and naturally blessed. But I do like leopard jeans prefer diff colours though.

blue2711 · 15/07/2012 21:43

MK looks absolutely gorgeous in that link bloss - have pinned. I do love leopard jeans but they are definitely not the easiest item to style. Have worn my whistles ones with black chiffon vest tucked in and neon pink RS heels at night, and with fine navy t shirt and gold ballerinas for casual by day. Cobalt Gracie goes nicely and so does Alexa.

issima I would love a mulberry changing bag if I was just starting out on this DC lark but will stay loyal to my lovely storksak Elizabeth in tan here.

amber hope your incandescent (love that word) has been appeased by a repentant DH. Get planning your Bicester trip and bonus spending! Couldn't believe some of the OTT replies on AIBU though! Ran quickly back here. Love the sound of your strawberry DD and mr potato head.

Exciting purchase hopefully! Looking forward to hearing all about it and your weekend.

We're staying at the CS hotel soon mim - am excited! Sounds like lovely day.

I had a night at the George Hotel in Stamford last night with my two best girlfriends. Gorgeous hotel and fantastic to just sit talking talking talking. Lots of prosecco and laughing. Really enjoyed the hour-ish drive there and back in new car too; feel very lucky. Wore brown skinny cropped TS chinos, navy t shirt and Zara floral blazer with neon punk heels and changed top for bright blue lace from Reiss for dinner. Enjoying wearing bright colour.

ny sounds like a fun but hectic weekend! Hope you're putting your feet up.

blue2711 · 15/07/2012 21:46

Missed the word rage from my bit to you amber.
Wore neon pink heels not punk. I am the least likely punk ever.

blue2711 · 15/07/2012 21:47

Hope poorly DD on the mend decam. I taken to my bed already feeling overtired and like I'm getting a cold.

Hopefully · 15/07/2012 21:50

I am slightly wishing I'd bought the Warehouse leopard skinnies back in the spring, although they'd be too big by now if I had, probably.

Am so pleased with de manta. Keep removing it from dust bag, admiring from all angles, then returning. I need to come up with some reasons to use it now!

SE being warm is over-rated Grin. Sounds like a lovely evening.

Foot is pretty much healed, but have decided not to take up Insanity again before we move. I would really need to re-start month two (again) because I've had a full week off, and I know I couldn't get through the whole month without breaks, because of training etc. am also really struggling to justify an hour spent exercising in one go when we are so insanely busy. At least if I do Jillian I can run in the morning and do shred in the evening, so only 30 mins of proper family time lost. Will start Insanity from the beginning when we have moved and I can commit 2 months to it properly. Am pissed off not to have finished it this time, but couldn't have anticipated surprise foot-stabbing incident, I suppose, and I know I won't finish it if I try to persevere now.

DH has celebrated coming home by completely wiping the printer, and now can't find the lead to connect it to the computer to sort it out. Why the hell does he insist on pretending he is computer literate? Angry Grin

So bloated after weekend of indulging. Actually looking forward to running tomorrow.

GeorginaWorsley · 15/07/2012 22:01

Agree with your outfit choices Ants re Whistles skinnies.
40 Bum lady loves those FC cowl tops also.

notyummy · 15/07/2012 22:05

I like The George. Have never stayed though- only lunched.

Hopefully- I am actually the proud owner of Insanity now. From a local friend. Am a bit scared!!

Evening all. Am back in my hometown (how I love it, how I miss it) after fantastic wedding weekend. Wore an old, old dress that actually looks better now than when I bought it, so was very pleased with myself. Much drinking done, much dancing done and much catching up with lovely friends. DH on really good form, would have been cometely switched off by 10 normally, but wasn't drinking (medication) and was still enjoying himself.

Hopefully the De Manta sounds wonderful. How exciting. Hope you had a great weekend. I haven't worn my Warehouse leopard skinnies for aaaages - dare I say it, they're not really the right colour for me. Will have another check when I get home and compare to the Whistles ones; you're welcome to them if it's a no. Worn perhaps 3 times, size 8.

NY DD is looking glorious in her comp shots; well done her!

Sounds like a lovely night out Blue.

Am meeting up with a friend tomorrow night who I haven't seen for four years. She recently got in touch to apologise for a misdemeanour (awful at the time, but had me laughing hysterically when reminded) and to try and resurrect our friendship. Fingers crossed it goes well...

DonaAna · 16/07/2012 07:46

Ooh lots of action here - new Mini Gracie colors and a lovely De Manta.

GoS I'm happy you enjoyed Overdressed. I loved it and all the factual background too (for example, high steet and increasingly also high end is full on polyester not because customers demand it but bacause there have been massive investments in Asia into new polyester production equipment). I'm seriously thinking about remodeling some old clothes - can't get material like that anywhere any more. And definitely even more critical of fast fashion.

Have gotten my share of rain - missing Italy already. It is interesting how different cities influence my dressing style. In Rome, I live in a very conservative neighborhood (the garage where we keep our car is full of vintage Ferraris). Feminine dresses, classic handbags and heels are perfect there. Here in the North our place is in the heart of the city in a neighborhood with a hipster vibe. Solid, funky color, odd eyeglasses, edgy shoes and vintage bits dominate. I went out to have a walk in the rain in my bright red Danafae raincoat (that just looks out of place in Rome) and my leather look leggings: an aging rocker was trying to pick me up Grin

Walked through the big department store nearby - sales in full swing, very happy that I did not succumb to the Massimo Dutti boucle jacket because I found this D&G boucle jacket that has bright dots of my favorite colors and mint green chain detailing. Bought it 50% off, the 36 is slightly too small for me, need to go and check if one of their branches has 38. Also found the city freezing cold and bought an extra layering piece from Vero Moda. Have forgotten how to layer... Have forgotten how difficult it is to coordinate shoes, jeans, various layering pieces, jackets, coats, scarves, handbags and umbrellas... Have forgotten how only ugly and boring shoes work in this weather. May have to spend the rest of vacation in my Ilse Jacobsen short rubber boots Sad

Loved Verity's selfmade Marant - hope you get lots of chances to wear it! My billowy Marant is perfect for the Nordic non-summer, warm enough worn with skinnies (I found a pair of forgotten 7FAM Roxannes - I altered them a year ago because my stick legs need an ultra skinny leg - they feel all new and fresh now).

DC (full of restless rainy day energy) are tearing down the house, need to go now... I had left here their sets of Ticket to Heaven Rubber Rain outfits, so we'll go and play in the rain.

AmberNectarine · 16/07/2012 07:51

Bargain teal 811s for the autumns among us...

Hopefully · 16/07/2012 08:21

Wow, thanks Amber, great find! Have ordered. I will now have an all time high (for the past 4 years or so) of four pairs of jeans. Who'd've thought? Grin

AmberNectarine · 16/07/2012 08:32

Knitwear for hopefully?

MarshaBrady · 16/07/2012 08:43

Great find Amber and well ordered Hopefully. Love the McQueen. How exciting.

Dona love the descriptions and the D&G. When I go home I notice how much they push the fashion. Each city/town has its own values etc.

Have been thinking about the project and realise that paying for cc just so I can write at a mac in a studio rather than home for free is annoying. They want someone to get the 'vibe'. I bet if they thought about it they wouldn't want to pay me what they do to listen to people talk about tv/ lunch mindless chat either.

blue2711 · 16/07/2012 08:43

Sympathies to you dona in the rain! Bet you come up with some stylish and colourful solutions. Love that jacket.

Grey here and we all have colds. No plans for today and feel rather uninspired... All still in pyjamas and mostly just bouncing on beds.

Hopefully · 16/07/2012 08:44

I love that one Amber, but I am holding out for this one to be reduced one day, and can't justify both. The sandro one is one I ordered and sent back and have slightly regretted ever since.

Red thank you for the lovely offer, but only with serious starvation tactics would I fit into a Warehouse 8 Grin

Hopefully · 16/07/2012 08:46

Ooh, must remember to order overdressed. Looks interesting.

blue2711 · 16/07/2012 08:46

Do you enjoy going into work for the 'vibe' though marsha or are you not bothered? So intrigued by what you do! Sounds varied and creative to me.

blue2711 · 16/07/2012 08:47

Oh that Sandra jumper is gorgeous hopefully.

AmberNectarine · 16/07/2012 09:05

Have ordered bargain red VL bikini in the NAP sale, £34.50!

MarshaBrady · 16/07/2012 09:10

Blue It is quite creative. I enjoyed it when I was 27 but now I think such inefficiency, such dithering! My bit is the thinking. It's a nice big project although I don't know much about it yet as have to sign a non disclosure thingo.

They are pretty much all pre-dc so it's easy to drift in, stay late and then go out. I haven't done any of that for years.

Plus I need to concentrate on something else so don't want it to take over.
