I need a new dress - help!

I am going to a leaving do on Friday and suddenly realised I have nothing to wear. The dress code is 'smart casual' and I have a very small budget (£50ish). I fancy a nice dress but haven't a clue where to start.

Thanks everyone, I ended up doing a very quick run into town and amazingly found a beautiful dress in the Monsoon sale at 50% off that fitted me! Second dress I tried on!

although I think it looks better on than in the photo. I am tempted to do a bit more shopping in the sale - it is nearly my birthday and wondered on a few early presents for myself! Am tempted by waiting til the 70% off later on as well though!
