bicarb on your face?

I saw a youtube video where this girl rubbed a load of bicarbonate of soda on her face. She claimed that it reduces pores and gives lovely smooth soft skin.

Can this be true? Im far too scared to try it myself. Its my face! What if it brings me up in a rash!

I do this about once a week - 'tis about the cheapest and gentlest exfoliator out there. I do OCM with sweet almond oil (and a bit of neem at the moment) and once a week I just put some bicarb in the mix and do OCM as normal. Leaves my skin lovely and smooth :-) Also, I am allergic to absolutely everything and this is fine on me...

I use bicarb after I have put an acid peel on my face.

Mix it into a paste with a drop of water and GOD it makes my face sizzle. I love it. I don't know if it is the acid peel or the bicarb which makes it sizzle but it is great, and it has made my skin look marvellous.

There is a massive thread on it somewhere, search for glycolic acid peel, it costs about £6 from some wonderful internet site. Highly recommend it.

I use this when I'm having a bad skin day. It's great. Even put some on DH when he gets a random stubborn spot (TMI coming up) and it, erm, solves the problem? pop

Yes it's brilliant. Rae Morris (famous make up artist) says it's the best exfoliator there is. I swear by it - mix it with cleanser to make a paste then rub it in, leave it for a couple of mins and rinse thoroughly. You'll need to moisturise extra well afterwards but you'll glow. Try it
