I want to buy a special changing bag for a special person

for my sister, she isnt into what on trend. She's been there and done it all before. I, through you lot, am more open to shopping around. Ive told her that I will get the bag. Her pram is red. She needs something that is practical but only for one baby. It has to beable to go over the pram handles. I, on the other hand, want to get her something that will last and she can use as a bag as well. Ive done a search and am snowed under by the choice. Im not bothered about the price but, Im not talking Angelina Jolie prices!! Smile

How about this one?

I have seen a gorgeous red leather one, but can't remember where that was.

That one's sold out but, it is very nice.

Mulberry have just begun to include changing bags in their new collection if you really want to splash out!!

MrsCornish · 09/07/2012 00:32

that lovely red one is still in stock on some sites, eg here

TheNightWatch · 09/07/2012 00:38

Do you think I should wait until the birth in September?

I love my Storksak 'Elizabeth' bag in tan leather... Other colours available. About £200. Fab as a handbag after baby so good investment if money not a worry. Mine was pre loved Grin off eBay £120.

Kate Spade do some really classic change bags m.katespade.com/mt/www.katespade.com/baby-accessories/designer-diaper-bags/baby-items-baby-bags,default,sc.html?sz=20

Not sure about UK shipping but there is a new store in London

I LOVE my Marc Jacobs nylon bag. Its not a change bag per se but it gets the job done and it very durable. Looks brand new after 18+ months of constant use. They come in plain colours or fun prints. I have a medium size one and I can fit loads in, any bigger and I think I'd overpack it IYSWIM

I think ShopBop offer free shipping to UK and I've seen this range on net-a-porter and in Selfridges.

HTH

I love the green Kate Spade one. I just wish I could find some reviews for it. I can't really visualise the size or whether the handles are too flimsy.

I have a couple of KS bags and flimsy they are not. Mine are both going strong after 10 years. The classic Kate Spade nylon diaper bag is my fav but not sure if they make it any more

TheNightWatch · 09/07/2012 12:48

I should ring the uk shop up. I wonder what the mark up will be?

Probably like for like (eg $300 vs £300). That is one thing that annoys me about buying US brands in UK, they don't pass exchange rate saving on.

TheNightWatch · 09/07/2012 13:18

I can't justify that. I might as well get a flight to NYC. That's such a rip off.

I wish I had the £££ for this one

TheNightWatch · 09/07/2012 13:26

Someone told me that there's not much room for your own stuff in those pods. I've just saved you £200

What about this ?

Maybe just find a nice bag instead of a "changing bag". As I mentioned, my Marc Jacobs bag isn't a change bag, it's just a really big bag that works brilliantly for lugging around all DS's crap. I swear stores add ££ whenever a baby is involved. The official MJ change bag (same material but smaller) is £200 compared to £160 which is what I paid

hazchem · 09/07/2012 20:00

What about a bespoke one? HAve a look for Chunkle Munkle on facebook. Same prices as a medium to high end change bag but you could have it made so it suited your sister and could be totally a bag for after too. ( I love mine)
