Seriously seem to falling towards that middle aged sensible mum look. I'm a size 12 okayish looking mum but I'm starting to feel old and a lot dowdy. I'm going to be 41 this summer and I need to start feeling a bit funkier. What do you suggest?

Urban Outfitters and Forever 21 are 'young' stores that do pieces and accessories that can be adapted to fit a more 'mature' woman. Mango and Zara are also pretty good at doing wearable, grown-up feminine fashion, IMO.

Myself, if I'm feeling frumpy, I find a good pair of flattering skinny jeans, a scoop- neck t-shirt or vest, a nice pair of heeled boots, good hair and make-up and some cool jewellery or a pretty, feminine scarf can be an instant de-frumper.

I know the feeling of feeling the way that you describe! Good luck with getting your mojo back ;)

Start with your hair. A good (and maybe different) haircut can transform you. Look at the basics of your wardrobe. Can you jazz up your jeans with some good boots, some statement jewellry and a great bag and jacket? Try a personal shopper session, they may pick up something that you wouldn't have picked in a million years. A bit of makeup will work wonders too. doesn't have to be very much, tinted moisturiser, mascara, lippy. A new lipstick or eye shadow could help perk you up too.
