Charm Bracelets

It's my niece's 18th birthday this month.

And I'm thinking of getting her a charm bracelet.

Are they still in fashion?

If they are what is the fashionable name?

If they are not in fashion, any ideas of a gift for an 18 year old?

I would avoid tbh - I have a love links one. Spent a bloody fortune on it and it looks like something I got in the market for a fiver!

I have a very old-fashioned solid gold charm bracelet that I have been slowly filling since my christening 45 years ago. Every charm means something and I recently added a couple of charms from my late grandmother's bracelet. I adore it because it is totally unique, and, being gold, more unusual.

But they are rather widespread and, as karma said, there are thousands of market-stall lookalikes out there. I would say an 18-yo might find them a bit passe.

These are cute.

Pandora leather bracelet ones are really nice bit trendier, you can get upto 5 charms on so probably enough

I like proper charm bracelets - just not the bead ones. £40 per bead, for a bit of silver and glass - they must have seen me coming!

We just bought DH's cousin a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet for her 18th, she was really pleased with it.

You can get leather ones or silver ones, lots of shops sell them.

I have one (biased!) that I got as a present, I tried on a Links of London one as well and it felt a bit cheap, but the Thomas Sabo one is a bit more of a classic style.

Pandora is still popular I think.
