Is currently half price in debenhams. My friend assures me I will love it but they never have any bloody testers!

I love very strong perfumes especially musky or woody ones.

At the moment I am using samsara, agent provocateur, knowing and boudoir-all very strong perfumes.

So based on these will I like Paloma Picasso? and also does it remind you of any other perfumes?

I think you will. It is strong, not too sweet. Quite sophisticated I think. One of my all time favourites!

I don't wear it but I love it....quite strong,v distinctive,not too musky or sweet.

SmileysPeeople · 04/07/2012 20:40

It's also on offer in Boots.

I tested it, as thought is love it as I love strong perfume.-love samsara and Coco.

But didn't like it. Too woodsy and herby for me, Reminded me very much of Clinique Aromatics.

Sounds like you would like it but best to try first. Glad I did.

Incident ly- what do you wear in the summer? I find samsara and Coco too heavy for daytime in summer but all summer perfumes seem too weak, or fruity, for me and don't last. I have skin that perfume seems to disappear on and I like to smell it on me. Any recommendations?

Really! It is my ultimate favourite perfume, been wearing it for years! Must get to debenhams!

I've worn this off and on since the early 90's. I love it. Been complimented often when wearing it. Thanks OP - I'll stock up!

I love Paloma Picasso - have wore it for years. My best ever compliment came from wearing it. Years ago I had to go and show someone that I didn't know at work how to do something. As I stood next to her talking to her she suddenly said 'You smell of happy memories'. I always think that when I wear it now

JackieandJudy · 04/07/2012 22:37

I used to love this perfume too. Used to wear it back in the day, but only at night, partly because I felt it was too heavy for the day, but mostly because I couldn't afford to use it too liberally. Smile

Smiley, have you tried Estee Lauder's White Linen or Knowing? Knowing is a bit more evening-y, but White Linen is a very definite 'clean laundry' smell but it isn't wishy-washy - my mum wears it and you can smell it on her and her clothes, it's noticeable. It doesn't smell right on me sadly, I have the wrong skin chemistry for it, but I also like Pure White Linen - a different fragrance altogether and not as distinctive and strong.

Also the OP mentioned Boudoir, which I love too - it's flowery/powdery but with an 'undertone' to it, and it's strong and lasts - a friend commented when I was wearing it that it smelled of sex, and I think she was right.

Lolita Lempicka is distinctive and lasts - the original fragrance in the lime green box in a bottle shaped like an apple. I always get compliments when I wear that, from both men & women. It smells like nothing else I've ever tried, don't know how to describe it but it has a note of liquorice in it which might be it.

I have worn it since I was 14 so many many many years Blush. I love it. Everyone comments on it. It is musky and heavy and last for ages ( although I think they have changed the formulation recently since the scent doesn't last nearly as long as it used to)

GoranisGod · 05/07/2012 10:43

Thanks for all the replies-I think I will go for it as really sounds like my kind of perfume!

To the poster who asked about my summer perfume-I recently bought Aqua allegoria tiare mimosa by Guerlain-from the perfume shop for the bargainous price of £15 for a 75ml bottle!!

I dont actually like the opening-quite lemony but it dries down to a lovely floral, woodsy with the ever present guerlain vanilla kick.

I have had lots of compliments on it and because it was so cheap I am not afraid to use it liberally!!

virgil-yes I heard its is now produced by Loreal so the formulation probably has been changed. There are many restrictions now on the ingrediants that they are allowed to use in perfumes.

I adore Mitsouko but the newer version uses artificial oakmoss and it doesnt last at allSad
