beach coverups / kaftans

Hi,

So can anyone point me in a good direction to get a coverup / kaftan for our coming up holiday? I need it to transition my white self from room to pool and beach etc. I want it to look good, but without spending £££.

any help much appreciated!

I go cheap for cover-ups too as IME they get ruined with suncream etc anyway. The other thing to consider is perhaps to buy the longer loose fit vest tops in a size larger so they fit like a short beach dress? H&M have some great slub-cotton ones in a good range of colours.

My go-to places for them are:

TK Maxx (they have loads of lovely cotton beach dresses at the moment in my local store rather than hideous polyester confections)
H&M
Next (their swimwear is hideous but they do have some good cover-ups).

This year, I am going to attempt the WIT (Wearing It Today blog) recommendation of over-sized white shirt over bikini, worn either loosely open or belted. I have a fab white collar-less shirt which I haven't worn in years which is perfect for this look (always pays to not throw things out :o )

thanks. Any other suggestions also welcome

I'd love to do the white shirt option but I look vile in white shirts, sadly.

I tend to buy really cheap cotton dresses, basically like a vest but mini dress length, from M&S or Topshop or H&M. Haven't actually found any for this year yet though and the fabbo Topshop one from two years ago is a size 10 and a bit tight right now!

I'm a short arse but haven't seen any vests anywhere which would be long enough to sub as a dress, even a short one.

I've seen some nice cheap ones in Matalan and Sainsburys.

How about La Redoute? Good selection of short dresses.
