Hello wise ones, I'm going to be brave and do a tidy up downstairs, any tips please? Is it going to hurt?

Get it done professionally; it doesn't hurt and is very quick. Doing it yourself with strips will be difficult, will probably hurt and might damage delicate skin.

Becky2011 · 03/07/2012 16:55

Agree with future, tis very difficult to do yourself, go to professional, yep it will hurt a bit. Beauty has it's pinch Grin

BetterOnACamel · 03/07/2012 16:55

Agreed. If you can get it done professionally initially, definitely do! The first time is pretty painful and will be quite jarring. Note how the waxer does it, direction of the strokes, the way the skin has to be held taut etc. and then you can replicate it yourself next time.

Loads if threads on this.

Ah, ok, having second thoughts now. Can't afford to go to a salon though.

Think it'd be about £25 max. - and that's for all off. Just the bikini line should be under £10. If you look around your area you may be able to find a good deal somewhere. It'll be worth it to get it done professionally the first time.

BumpingFuglies · 03/07/2012 19:13

Ok, thanks Camel. I'm just a bit unsure of going somewhere and stripping off, if you know what I mean?

How is it different doing it yourself and at a salon? Do they use different stuff?

You keep your knickers on for a standard bikini wax. Go to a salon, it is so much less painful and less hassle (and only a few pounds more).

BetterOnACamel · 03/07/2012 22:10

Yup. Standard bikini wax would be least invasive, they just do the sides - a full on is about as intimate as it gets though Blush. Though tbh, it's not felt like toooo big a deal when I've had it done since they keep you chatting about mundane stuff and you kinda pretend it's not really happening, kinda like a gyno visit ;)

Wear a thong if you have a bum beard, easier to get to. So my friend said.

noisytoys · 03/07/2012 22:55

Go to a local beauty college it'll cost next to nothing

Becky2011 · 04/07/2012 08:59

I found it took a while to find someone good, not all waxers do a great job. I know somewhere great off oxford street London if anyone wants to know.

BumpingFuglies · 04/07/2012 11:10

Thanks all, having a re-think!

Their wax is professional grade, but it's the fact you have to be a contortionist to keep the skin taut Grin

I do my underarms regularly (I'll have to sort the bikini line in time for holidays) and I have to get my arm right behind my head to keep the skin tight .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/07/2012 14:39

bum beard??

Brain bleach, brain bleach Confused
