Can anyone recommend one or does such a thing exist? Have quite dry skin.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is far far cheaper than Eve Lom!

[[http://us.lizearle.com/cleanse-tone-moisturise/cleanse-and-polish-hot-cloth-cleanser.html?cmp=google_pbrand&kw=liz+earle+cleanse+and+polish+e Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish here (USA site though)

better link

Never tried but cheaper than Liz Earle

ZZMum · 03/07/2012 15:28

being an EL fan, I would say that there is not one ... Liz E is a different cleanser - for me it is too perfumed and too thin - not as effective as EL at cleansing or leaving skin soft and moist.. but a lot of people like it so could work for you? I have tried almost all the waxy subs but still come back to EL - I can make big tub last 6 months so I think it is worth it as I no longer need such expensive moistureisers or other skin stuff like exfoliator or serum...

not tried/not sure about suitability

Boots number seven also have them as does another range in Boots. I have the Eve Lom and LE one and use LE everyday and then LE more like a treatment as it does , I feel, make my skin look healthier.

MooMinCow · 03/07/2012 15:57

I didn't get on with the EL one and used the LE one, but am currently trying out cheaper alternatives.

have been using the Superdrug Vit E one for a few weeks - it's ok, but doesn't feel as rich as the Liz Earle, smells a bit synthetic and leaves my face a bit tight and dry. would do in an emergency or for a travel/gym bag.

I also have the Boots No7 one, Boots Botanics cleansing balm (which is probably closest in texture to Eve Lom) and Sanctuary one to try (yes made use of boots 3 for 2 Blush)

fedupofnamechanging · 03/07/2012 16:09

I have also used the Superdrug one and do not recommend it. Like MooMin, it made my face feel tight and dry.

Lush ultrabland. It's amazing. My cleanser holy grail... Thick and sticky, but not so much so that you drag your skin massaging it on. Smells nice. Very slightly granulated. In fact it's so fabulously non-drying that i have to tone to get rid of the residue.

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/07/2012 19:20

I havent used EL but I used to use LE, due to the fact you have to pay P&P and I wasnt organised enough and used to run out.

Plus all the packaging put me off, everything comes wrapped in tissue with free samples and a note from the person who packed it. I dont give a shiny who packed it or want free samples, I'd have been happier if they dropped the price a bit instead.

Anyway I started using the No7 one, I thought it would be rubbish and I would be going back to LE but it was really good.

peppamum · 03/07/2012 19:25

I have tried the rebranded version yet but the botanics cleasnser was fab! The only downside was that it had a rubbish cloth with it, but as I use flannels that wasn't an issue for me. I'm currently using the sanctuary one, which is good but a bit grainier than the Botanics.

I actually prefer botanics to eve lom as it doesn't have mineral oils in it (although that might be just jealousy as I haven't used eve lom for years for cost reasons!)

MissFoodie · 03/07/2012 19:40

balance me is great, smells divine and has no vaseline in it (which EL does)

cybbo · 03/07/2012 19:54

Time delay by boots used to do a lovely grainy cleanser in a screw top jar...was ace but don't know if it's still around

I like the no 7 one

cybbo · 03/07/2012 19:56

The sanctuary also do a lovely one and their micro dermabrasion cream which heats up on your skin is amazing for clogged pores

passivehoovering · 03/07/2012 19:57

Lush Ultrabland too.

stclair · 09/07/2012 18:56

Thanks for all the suggestions! I bought the Liz Earle one to try and tried it last night. No, it doesn't have the grainy texture of Eve Lom but at less than half the price I'm happy to give it a go!
