What are your thoughts on these boots?

I was thinking these would be really nice in autumn/winter with dark or black jeans. Not sure if they're a bit 'out there' though!

Black rain splashes etc would be disguised too !
With nice dark plain jeans as you say they'd look lush.
Is it actually pony skin? (curious and want to stroke them)
