Perfect shoes, but a bit too high. Risk it or not?

I have just taken delivery of some new shoes which are absolutely perfect for an outfit I'm planning on wearing to a wedding on Saturday, but... the heel is seriously high. I've just measured it and it's 5.5 inches, with a 1 inch platform at the front. I've been wearing them round the house for a little while and they are comfortable, and I've not fallen over yet, but I really can't decide whether to risk it or not. I don't want to look like one of those TOWIE wannabes who can't walk in their heels, and I can't work out if I'm walking oddly in them or not.
I'm also going to the wedding with DD1 who is a pre-schooler and dd2 who is nearly 1 and I will be carrying for at least some of it. WWYD? Is 4 days enough time to practice walking in them so I don't look like an idiot or fall over? Or should I just go and buy some more boring, sensible shoes with a slightly lower heel?

Quite agree. Preferably turquoise. But babyproof, cheap and not to be ordered on line. Mmm.

The accessorize neclace you linked to be for would work but I'd be after a more turquoisey than greeny turquoise.

Where can you get?

chaosisawayoflife · 03/07/2012 20:03

I don't mind ordering online as long as they offer next day delivery, as wedding is Saturday.
I can get to: Next, New Look, DP, Accessorise, M&S, TK Maxx, Fat Face, House of Fraser, Primark, BHS, Topshop, Sainsbos, Asda, Tesco, ummm, prob some others but can't think now. Or, if really worth it could make a trip to Kingston which has most shops!

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 03/07/2012 20:42

Ah, here and here

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 03/07/2012 20:43

better cuff

chaosisawayoflife · 04/07/2012 07:34

Thanks Procrastination. I quite like the multicoloured thing, I think that could work. Although I'm wondering if there's a risk of it looking a bit childish, especially as I'm wearing quite bright colours. I guess it's about getting the right one. Hmmm, will investigate!

Should be just fine - nicely quirky but not outlandish - which seemed ot be what you were after.

there's nothing childish about those shoes the navy blazer/cover up, dress or cuff and you'll presumably have your hair up? I think the wooden beads would be a good call, or maybe the first JL multi necklace. If you go dull conservative on the jewelery it could all end up looking a bit flung together.

But, turquoise would definitely be good, I still really like the east foil one. Another option would be a bold gold-ish necklace and some multi / bright bangles / cuff. Maybe this or this and this or these or these (which would also be fab with the wooden beads)

ProcrastinationAteMyMorning · 04/07/2012 11:05

Well, that was a s clear as mud. I meant

wooden beads and bracelets
or
gold necklace and multi cuff or multi turquoise bracelets
or
foil necklace and gold cuff
or maybe
this and this meh

chaosisawayoflife · 04/07/2012 12:17

Has anyone ever told you how fabulous you are?

Ok, been shopping. They didn't have the wooden necklace in my local new look, but I did find a beauty. Then found bracelets in dp. Can't find them on the websites as they were in the sale, but have hopefully put a pic on my profile. Total spend: £6.99. I've just tried the whole outfit on and I love it!
Thank you for all your help.

Great choices there. Talk about bargain time! Thanks for the update BTW, 'tis a rare and much appreciated thing.

Have a grand time Grin

Thank you. I will (if I don't break my ankle!). I may even get a pic to post if I'm feeling brave!
