Help, makeup disappears too quickly

My makeup just doesn't stay put. I use Benefit you rebel foundation (tried many others but this seems to suit me best), bobby brown bronzing powder and Bobbi brown shimmer brick.

I look ok when I leave the house but within a few hours (sometimes only one) it had all disappeared.

Planning a trip to John Lewis to find something that might give my makeup more staying power. I would really love some Mumsnet advice as obviously every counter says their product is the best.....

My skin type is both dry and oily depending g on the day Confused, it's also rather sensitive so I avoid overly perfumed stuff.

Have you tried a loose powder to set it?

No haven't tried loose powder. I've got a preconceived idea (probably unjustified) that it will dry my face and show the downy hairs up!! I will have a try.

I'm 49 and only recently started wearing translucent powder. It makes a huge difference to the look and wear of makeup.

I use an Estée Lauder one and it's good.

Avon skin perfector primer is great under or over make up when face gets shiny.

I think a primer might sort you out, plus a fine translucent powder like mineral veil

The benefit one you are wearing is just a tinted moisturiser, I think. In my experience, they just don't last like a foundation, nor give the same coverage.

If you don't want a full on made up look, I would try Estee Lauder Double Wear light. It lasts for ages, but is not too thick. Then a bit of translucent powder on top and should last all day Smile
