New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

I am always.
Not ' I always is ' I come from the Home Counties dont you know!

notyummy · 08/07/2012 19:41

Hi all.

What a great haul SE! So glad someone else has the classic shirt - I am planning to wear the chambray one to work tomorrow.

That looks like a great bargain Always.

Hopefully - ouch!! Hope it gets treated swiftly and only puts a temporary hold on your fitness efforts. I was at a birthday party this PM and one of the Dads there is going to lend me his Px 90 set. Although I hope I wont look quite as scary as the people on the home page. I wont be lifting weights quite like some of theirs!

Great news about the car MIM.

Congratulations on the job Blue.

Happy holidays Fritzi.

Wore new Zara skinnies and breton yesterday to another boirthday party and was pleased with the look - simple....but it worked.

Hope you have all had good weekends!

Hopefully · 08/07/2012 19:49

NY I have to say one of my early thoughts was frustration at having to have a couple of days off now I've just restarted month 2!

P90X looks good, I was more or less tossing up between them. Slightly more scary ripped people, but I think you'd struggle to end up looking like that without v limited diet and copious protein shakes. And being a man Grin

blue2711 · 08/07/2012 19:52

Poor you hopefully!

Who are you on Pinterest bretonbee? I'd like to see your boards please. I'm JE with black and white (9 months pregnant) pic if you'd like to follow me.

Good Zara haul, will look at links now. 'All' I've got in the sales are my AH Valorie and Gracie. Oh and the J brand heavens which I'm hoping I can wear A/W. All pricey but big savings too so pleased with myself.

So disappointed for Murray.

Ollie- they look really like the M and S black trousers I was wearing today! Very flattering I think.

Great shopping seventh! Who is hb on Pin?

blossoming · 08/07/2012 20:04

That would be antspants blue

Ugh, will have to do major calorie counting next few days - have got so used to having an extre 6-800 calories from insanity and running every day!

OllieinOrange · 08/07/2012 20:44

Sexy shoes no? here

OllieinOrange · 08/07/2012 21:02

MiM lovely news about your car. You will be fine. Have you got a name for your car? It helps the bonding process. Smile

DonaAna · 08/07/2012 21:04

Hopefully Shock hope it heals well.
Blue love your boards and such a stylish late pregnancy pic (I was a sweaty mess). Your purchases have been excellent I'm sure they will serve you well.
Marsha your day sounded lovely.
Issima your AW shortlist sounds good. I think I solved the Summer winter coat dilemma last winter: a navy pea coat and a non-puffy down jacket that is the color of my eyes, dark grayish green (bought it in the summer for less than 50 euros - amazing quality). Worn with panache with a fake Missoni scarf purchased from a street kiosk in Siena for 6 euros (couldn't resist the rainbow of colors). Someone tried to steal the scarf when I was travelling Shock.

Enjoying the 5K afterglow. I keep track of my runs with an iPhone app and the accumulation of those little dots on my calendar feels very rewarding.

Took the kids to see some contemporary art today. The galleries were empty and AC'd to the max (35C outside). The young architects had built from plywood and canvas a lovely chill-out area in the museum garden, complete with those mist coolers you see in the US Southwest, Palm Springs and Phoenix for example. Full of fun and stylish young people, the plywood loungechairs were amazingly comfortable, DC could roam and explore freely (DC2 started to drink from the misters) - all in all, a perfect afternoon.

Some of the big installations at the museum were clothes themed. We all loved this (recycled baby clothes). There was a more uncomfortable installation too - a man harnessed to tug three heavy bales of bundled, discarded clothes that charities sell to Africa.

Have been reading Overdressed all day. Surprisingly well-written, breathtaking and really makes one think.

MangawhaiHeads · 08/07/2012 21:19

Hello all, trying to keep up with all the chat.

What a fab Zara haul SeventhEverything, I am a big Zara fan. Tried on a boucle jacket there the other day but it did absolutely nothing for me unfortunately.

Spent the afternoon in the City, having a wander, popped into the Tate and also had a browse around One New Change, near St Paul's. Really nice for a look, I cannot cope with Oxford Street so this is a really nice change.

Actually, what are your thoughts on this? DD was playing one of those pianos near the Tate (part of City of London Festival), anyway a homeless man came over and was admiring her talent (hah!) and then asked if I would do him a favour, handed me a postcard and a stamp and asked if I could post it to his sister. He explained he's been homeless for years and wanted to get in touch. Now have read the postcard and he has written that he tried to make it back, has no address yet etc etc. God love him, he looked in a bad way. I think I should send it with a note to say where I met him - just in case the sister has been trying to find him. Or am I just being a pushover? Just really felt for him, he is someone's son and brother.

Just watched the heavens open here in SW London, it was like a monsoon. Eeek, where is summer?

bretonbee · 08/07/2012 21:25

Am following you now blue - am RW also with B&W photo. Only got one board so far.....really like your dream house one, am planning on doing a similar one.

Sounds like an idyllic day dona
Sorry about your foot hopefully - that sounds painful.
Great blouse always

Broke out of my normal weekend outfits today and wore WC navy maxi with tan & cream Lanvin ballet flats and tan/taupe Massimo Dutti cardigan for lunch. Lucky as friend's apartment seemed to be about 35 degrees.

Russianred · 08/07/2012 21:41

Evening all. Recovering from a lovely weekend - the usual thing predicted over the next few days where I will lament being away from friends. Am back in London next week though and already have plans to meet up with lots of people, so very excited.

Another wedding this weekend, think I'll wear the Reiss dress I was my sister's bridesmaid in.

Hopefully that sounds so painful - you poor thing! Hope you make a swift recovery.

MiM the car definitely needs a name! You'll be fine - short distances first and make sure you go where you know there is easy parking - I got DH to give me parallel parking and general parking lessons after my John Lewis debacle.

Manga I would put a note in. I think it will be something that sits uneasily with you if you don't.

Hopefully · 08/07/2012 21:49

Manga I would pop a note in - it's only the cost of a stamp to assuage your conscience Smile.

Toe is fine really - not at all sore unless I move quickly, which opens it up again and stings a bit.

Dona sounds like a lovely day.

I have just ordered some ponte leggings from River Island, of all places. Sure they'll be crap quality, but I need some vaguely-stylish-but-über-casual clothes for hanging out at home/nipping to shops etc, hoping they will be ok with oversized slouchy sweater.

MangawhaiHeads · 08/07/2012 21:54

Yes I will do that. The sister can take it from there. Poor fellow.

Hopefully, I am squirming at your foot injury. Hope you are on the mend soon.

MarshaBrady · 08/07/2012 22:03

Hopefully Oooh ouch! Hope it mends soon.

Manga great idea on the note.

SE lovely stuff.

Dona what a lovely day.

We had a very indulgent day, and even managed half an hour lying in the sun before it rained again and got a bit too chilly. I really can't wait until we actually book cc in advance that coincides with a sunny day.

AntPants1 · 08/07/2012 22:53

I have changed my pinterest name to antpants1. Just makes things simpler and also means that I can stay under the radar!! For some reason will not let me add a photo to my profile.

OllieinOrange · 09/07/2012 06:50

Manga enclosing a note is the right thing to do. Just think, you could be playing a part of changing someone's life. How lovely.

Day One of the summer holidays and its raining. Of course it is.
Pyjama day planned for the boys. NAP trying on session for me (once DHL guy has been) Smile

DonaAna · 09/07/2012 08:17

Ollie please share the NAP news as soon as the delivery arrives. (Love shopping-by-proxy...)

New day, new week, need some structure and discipline, hence wearing high-waisted D&G city shorts (a bargain from US outlets ) with a tomato red Zara kimono top back from circa 2006. At the time, I traveled a lot and found a Zara and a changing room adjacent my departure gate at the Barcelona airport - bought this and wore it for the rest of the summer. That was still the era of cropped tops, so soon after with pregnancies and low-waisted jeans I found this languishing at the back of my wardrobe, because this was slightly too short and revealing - but now that high waists are back it's perfect and good quality stretch cotton poplin. (Sorry about dreadful pics on Pin - this is what clothes look like in real life without an army of stylists and photographers). Pairing it with customized denim blue Havaianas and with either red Hasbeens or navy Vagabond wedge pumps when I go out.

Super happy with the shopping in my wardrobe approach - thanks all for inspiration. It feels like I have lots and lots of new items and thinking about them creatively is so much fun. Found a good slip at Bodas and will probably buy it - investments in infrastructure and extending the life of my clothes are allowed as they will prevent new purchases Grin

Also warmly recommend reading Overdressed - it makes me want to care for the clothes that I already have and really strengthens the commitment to Marshalogy.

blue2711 · 09/07/2012 08:29

Between them my DC are conspiring to prevent me from having any sleep at all. Grr.

Wearing nice fresh outfit today of peppermint skinnies, whistles white t shirt, GAP grey and white striped cardigan and shirouk necklace (bright pink and peppermint and diamanté. Not understated.) And bright pink nails. Look brighter than I feel!

Good week this week I hope. Pick up new car Wednesday and have night away with two best girl friends on Saturday. Holding on to these two facts when faced with a grumpy tantrumming DS...
