New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Cheers Mim and everyone else - am enjoying a glass of rose following a glass of wine at my friends to celebrate Andy Murray's win! Lol at your DH!

Am following you now bloss! Wore a boring uniqlo grey jersey jacket with my Davina, not very inspiring. Love that dress too. Must look for ants now.

Looking forward to checking out your cooking book board mim. Have just made my first loaf of bread - no knead bread from Joanne Weinberg's "Cooking for Real Life" here which is my newest cookbook (I have less than 20 though). I love trying out new recipes.

Right need to pin more of wardrobe...

OllieinOrange · 06/07/2012 21:51

Those of you looking for work clothes, have a look at the Tegan www.teganfashion.com/index.aspx?mscsmigrated=true]]. Some sale bargains and a few good blouses to be found.

Reason for me sounding chilled Pickled is I am far too tired to be anything else. Visit from parents was ok - had a few 'moments' but think they liked the hotel stay. Who is this GC with whom I was kissing on the balcony during the storm?????

Great NL boots Ants and Suburban. Am quite taken with the sequin ones too.

Saw a nice top today - had a small cream and sea green print, open neck, loose fit silky cotton. Bit different from what Id normally wear. May try on.

blossoming · 06/07/2012 21:53

Oops Wine brain decam!

OllieinOrange · 06/07/2012 21:54

Tegan link again here

Emo76 · 06/07/2012 21:57

ok half an hour in and I am a pinterest convert, after a week of "nothing to wear" I realise that is not the case . Need a good clear out though and to focus my future purchasing! cheers all, glass of prosecco and hampton court flower show on bbc2!

AntPants1 · 06/07/2012 21:57

MIM he is giving me the look. You know THE look.

Must go he thinks I am not paying him enough attention

MidnightinMoscow · 06/07/2012 21:59

You're only in trouble if he starts humming, "I second that emotion" Ants.

Well, thats my experience.

AmberNectarine · 06/07/2012 22:02

Bless your DH, MiM. Mine is currently reaping the rewards of me reading that book

Glad pinterest has taken off. I think we can thank Dona and annie for that.

CHOOGIRL · 06/07/2012 22:41

Amber if it's the book I'm thinking of, I hope you are equally rewarded with a new handbag.

It's had mixed reviews hasn't it. Have downloaded but not read yet, although it looks like every second person on the train has it open.

AntPants1 · 06/07/2012 22:42

Have just shown DH some "boards". He does not get it. "where are the pants" he is wondering. Bottle of wine down.

Hopefully · 06/07/2012 22:45

Evening!

Loving the pin action everyone! Especially Emo and Ants, lots of style envy here.

ApuskiMcClusky · 06/07/2012 22:52

Ants, just saw the topshop blazer on Pinterest, I didn't realise the navy was back in stock - have just bought it! Thank you!

And thank you for the sympathies re the nanny situation, I'm feeling a bit calmer about it now, but was in a bit of a state about it yesterday and this morning! If worst comes to worst, there's a holiday club running nearby that has spaces that takes them from age two - but baby A only turned two on Wednesday (two years ago I was posting about my waters breaking on this thread!!) so I'd be really worried about how he'd cope. Bit anyway, hopefully sorted Monday.

CHOOGIRL · 06/07/2012 23:08

Apuski Have you tried emergencychildcare.com? They supply nannies at short notice.

ApuskiMcClusky · 06/07/2012 23:18

Thanks Choo, I've made a note of them. I thought it would be prohibitively expensive, but actually their suggested hourly rate isn't too far from what I'm paying for a perm nanny, so it may get me through a couple of weeks or so.

pickledsiblings · 06/07/2012 23:19

Ollie, GC = George Clooney Smile. For the benefit of the new comers, we once did a spontaneous 'upload a pic of your hunky DH if you dare' and it has to be said that Ollie's DH is very handsome in a George Clooney kind of way.

Amber, be careful - we don't want anymore mishaps, bad luck comes in threes and all that.

Bloss, order the dress and you will know when you try it on if it will work for school (I doubt it but I'm sure DH will like it).

pickledsiblings · 06/07/2012 23:23

Annie, is everything OK? You're not still working away are you? I love your weekend style board and who knew you had a crush on AMcG Smile?

MangawhaiHeads · 06/07/2012 23:24

Lucky Ollie! GC rocks!
Home from dinner in my sister's house, lucky to be near her. There is a festival of sorts in local park tomorrow so think we will pop in, DD knows there will be a bouncy castle, god help us.
Never got to Wimbledon, weather was lousy early afternoon so didn't bother. Might have a wander up tomorrow.

NotSoGrumpy · 06/07/2012 23:27

Apuski poor you, how stressful!

Right so I have an Pinterest invite (thanks Decam) but am confused by the linking to Facebook thing so I'm going to figure it out when I'm less tired... Some lovely links.

The builders have nearly finished (hurrah!), just outside and the snagging list left so i've spent 4 hours this eve cleaning and unpacking boxes. It all looks lovely and I'm so pleased with the paint colours.

Ants or Apuski, what's the sizing on the navy TS blazer like?

DH has just got home pissed after a 'dads' night out'....

ApuskiMcClusky · 06/07/2012 23:35

NSG, I was debating between sizes, but erred on getting bigger, thinking about the teenage skinnyminnies that their sizing needs to accommodate. I may be wrong, we shall see.. When you do go live on Pinterest, do pin some house stuff, I'd be interested in the styles you've been going for (we're hoping to complete purchase at the end of the month and get down to renovation).

notyummy · 07/07/2012 01:30

[People of the world.....

Just joining your Love Train MiM Grin

Am a bit tipsy after fun night with friends. Drinks at mine, then dinner out and then liqueurs and coffee at home. With Dh as Master Babysitter for 2 broods again. Ended up wearing the coated skinnies new Zara dress over and grey leopard heels. V positive reviews. Must sleep. Night all

Go Andy.

notyummy · 07/07/2012 01:31

So sorry about nanny stress Apuski- nightmare.

ReineDeSaba · 07/07/2012 06:49

Just caught up on all the 'action' ! on the thread last night..will come back later to post properly but mim you are hilarious!

apuski have you got a grandparent you can haul in for a couple of weeks(met someone yesterday who had flown in from Iceland to do emergency childcare for their grandchild)

Even my Dh has seen the benefits of this thread. He suggested I mentioned it to a friend who has some things going on at the moment as he knows what a great support system you all are.

and amber just say no! to fitflops..

Hopefully · 07/07/2012 07:48

Apuski hope the nanny situation sorts itself out next week. How stressful, you poor thing.

Attempting to get back on the diet wagon here after gaining a couple of lbs over the past two weeks. I find it so easy to stay on the wagon once I'm there, but actually getting on it is nearly impossible! Need to dig out some willpower from somewhere, as i'd be so cross to stop here after all the work i've put in to lose 90% of the weight I want gone. Also I refuse to buy new clothes that fits my 3lb-heavier weight, so need to shift it before I buy anything else Grin
