New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Dona I am loving your 'good cost per wear' board, such a fab idea. I need to do the sum on how many times I would need to wear Joseph leather leggings over the next 5 years so i can justify them instead of food

Hopefully · 06/07/2012 18:50

We have something like 25-30 cookbooks I guess. We use a few favourites (perhaps 6?) a lot of the time, but the only one that never gets used is the Fat Duck one that we were given as a housewarming present. Just as soon as we have 4 weeks to prepare a meal, I'll start flicking through it...

blossoming · 06/07/2012 18:57

Your boards are so high end gorgeous dona and marsha. Can't find breton though.

blossoming · 06/07/2012 19:01

Lol at Fat Duck cookbook hopefully. W.T.F Grin

AntPants1 · 06/07/2012 19:11

Oh I have loads of cookbooks. Easily 35-40 if is could just get off my arse to count them! I don't do any cooking though. It's food porn really. I will happily read them in bed imagining a life where the kids are well behaved, DH is adoring and mum is never critical. Of course in that world I am a stone lighter and every day is a good hair day...

Sorry for double post

hopefully thanks for clarifying about Dramatic heads up. I think I must be a dramatic something then. Nothing floaty, alas, about me!!!

MrsCampbellBlack · 06/07/2012 19:33

Ollie - thanks - have bookmarked and will order for present for DH. He does the ride tomorrow - 100 miles with 3 big climbs. He's managed to get friendly with some mate of Mark Cavendish so is like the proverbial pig in . . . .

MarshaBrady · 06/07/2012 19:45

Ants do it. I think you need to be emailed. I can send you an invitation if you pm me your email address.

suburban · 06/07/2012 19:47

I can send you a pinterest invite if you PM me your email...

I also wierdly like these

I love cooking and cook books, but don't have that many, probably about 20. I have just ordered the French Women don't get fat cookbook though Dona Wink.

Evening all. Still no word from my lovely friend; am beginning to get alarmed, although need to remind myself I was in labour for 4 days with my first and this is quite reasonable!

I have 50+ cookbooks - I cook at least one new thing a week and rotate which books I use. I find Nigel Slater's recipes to be the best, closely followed by HFW. Then Nigella. I love them. Am doing a Vodka Arrabiata for our guests tomorrow, from Jamie's America. I want something I can throw together quickly as they are such great company so want to make the most of chatting and drinking. I haven't seen their DS since he was 8 months and he and DD were best little buds (a month apart).

Had a lovely browse in IKEA today and came away with some really gorgeous little bits; this W&A inspired print for DD's room, these fab plates/cups for DD's 2nd birthday Teddy Bear's picnic and these sheets for DS's room. None of which I really need of course, but all of which is gorgeous.

Hope that your EA in the know can pull a few strings for you Hopefully - fingers crossed!

Dona you are fabulous. Your post about the 6 steps to consider when buying resonated deeply!

Outift sounds lovely NY, enjoy your night out.

Which outfit did you go for in the end Blue?

Russianred · 06/07/2012 19:52

Saw those boots in NL this week Ants and was very impressed with them. LOVE the glitter ones Suburban. So glad you had a lovely week with the important ladies in your life Smile.

suburban · 06/07/2012 20:00

Ooh love that print Red. Grin at the important ladies in my life, we also spent a lot of time with my grandmother and two great aunts when we were down there. Really Really lovely but it's safe to say I am enjoying the peace at home.

Russianred · 06/07/2012 20:00

Meant to say hello to newcomers. Kaloo I'm back to teaching in September and am piecing together a new wardrobe, also on a budget, for doing so, having been out of the game for 4 years. Have just won a lovely Aubin & Wills blouse on Ebay that I've tried and is forgiving in the breast area (am a 32DD, so not quite comparable but nearly). Mango have some lovely trousers in their sale - Capri Pocket Trousers, they are called, that are perfect on me - sit just on the ankle (I'm 5 4"), wash really well and are a high enough rise to withstand the rigours of teaching - £14.99, so bargainous. Whistles Milla dresses (on sale nearly everywhere) worth looking at too - nice and thick, flattering but not body-con and knee-length.

blossoming · 06/07/2012 20:03

I keep looking at this dress from my board and liking it more all the time. Would need a blazer to go with it.
You must join ants. Feel like I know people better now I see their pins. And you can have the app on your phone!

AntPants1 · 06/07/2012 20:12

bloss that dress would be perfect for you.

MidnightinMoscow · 06/07/2012 20:17

Happiness taken too far in the Mim household.

Am pissed on Presecco.

Good times.

Kaloobear · 06/07/2012 20:23

RussianRed thank you-I'm going to go and have a look in Mango tomorrow. Are you looking forward to going back to work? I am most definitely not!

Have followed some of you on Pinterest. I'm Chadpie if anyone wants to follow me :)

That Maxmara dress is gorgeous. It would go beautifully with the tux jacket I got in the Monsoon sale...!

Russianred · 06/07/2012 20:26

Cheer MiM!

Kaloo I am thrilled, but it's been a very long maternity leave for me. DH keeps reminding me that I may be viewing the profession through rose-tinted spectacles. I'm returning to a school with a very different demographic to my last one though, so different challenges that I'm more excited by than those I last encountered.

MarshaBrady · 06/07/2012 20:35

You're on Ants Grin

Kaloo hi! I'm following you too.

Bloss I love that dress. Would really suit you.

Red I love it when I have work but it's months away, feels relaxing. Not that it's happened yet. I didn't have a proper ml.

MiM cheers!

MidnightinMoscow · 06/07/2012 20:45

Cheers.

Listening to our wedding party sound track.

"People all over the world, join hands...start a love train".

Christ, I'll feel dreadful tomorrow.

Russianred · 06/07/2012 20:52

As do I Marsha - I didn't realise how much all my worries about getting a job had been consuming me. Such relief now. Just focusing on the wardrobe and the childcare Wink.

Ooh MiM you're going for it! I am starting a bottle on my own as DH out for one of his many end of term drink things. Have just made a pavlova base for tomorrow evening and will move on to cleaning. Oh. The. Glamour.

blossoming · 06/07/2012 20:52

Get pinning ants!
Following you kaloo.
