New thread!

The fake tan is on (with requisite orange patches, naturally) and hair is done. I'm on countdown to Big Night Out, aware that will have to get ready whilst putting 2 DC to bed.

40bum lady is wearing my black suede Zara sandals today. I heartily recommend. She goes out a lot, doesn't she?! Envy. I have a wardrobe full of going out clothes but not enough occasions to wear them all!

bloss is right: coats and warm jackets are the way forward. I am stupid; I have 20 odd blazers and lightweight jackets perfect for May to September but only 1 jacket and 2 coats I like for September to April. Must rectify.

Lovely name Looby!

Meant to say, to make the recipe even healthier, if you have one if those fat seperater jugs, then I used them to seperate the fat off and get rid of it before I used the juices to mix with the lentils.

AntPants1 · 01/07/2012 09:11

Could someone PM me the name. Am intrigued now!!

Lovely to wake up without a hangover!!!

Fleecy · 01/07/2012 09:45

looby that's a wonderful name. I hope you're all feeling good and adjusting nicely to life as a family of six Smile

ollie great pic of the party. Your DS looks very happy.

amber we had to ring round everyone going to the party which was a little bit tedious! But no public transport involved so no flaming unlike the lady who went on the bus and put a thread up about it a day or so ago...

DS slept through and hasn't yet been sick again so hopefully a one off.

ny traybake looks delicious

Fleecy · 01/07/2012 09:46

icey is it the goldfish top on your Pinterest board - it's very pretty.

ny forgot to say I liked her diet philosophy - simple and not restrictive. I don't know much about her. Are the pedometers really that good?

notyummy · 01/07/2012 10:13

I've heard of Fleecy, but that's about it. I know she is big into walking- 10000 steps and all that. I think pedometers probably work for some people as a target to aim for. I would love to be able to be more active as part of my day but long distance commute via car and an office job mitigate against it, hence cramming it into short blasts a la shred/running. I think I have observed on here before that I usually lose weight when we go on a family holiday somewhere with decent weather , as we are so much more active all day as well as fitting in runs etc. Lost at least 4/5 pounds in both Oz and Italy, which is proof that moving more does work.

DonaAna · 01/07/2012 10:14

All, you can use iPhone as a pedometer (free apps available).
Will try the traybake.

Outfit of the day: green Zara dress, nude Castaners, green Mini Gracie. Sounds boring but actually quite chic - at least for our local supermarket.

All pinners, it's really easy to catalogue the wardrobe with the Pinterest iPhone / iPad camera app. I took some photos of my old things yesterday, needed about 5 minutes. Photo quality would have been better if I had bothered to use a tripod (a bit windy on the terrace). Shopping ban is definitely starting now, in July I will only shop from my wardrobe (one exception alowed - if I find the Zara floral jersey blazer in my size, I'm allowed to buy it).

Please someone PM me Looby's baby name!

notyummy · 01/07/2012 10:15

Heard of her- obviously I have also heard of you Fleecy!

IceCreamCastles · 01/07/2012 10:15

That's the one fleecy. Good old Dorothy perkins.

Glad your ds is feeling better. We still haven't succumbed to the pox. I'm sure it will visit us when it's least convenient.

Yes pickled- we're really looking forward to the summer holidays. Not much planned so can just spend lots of time as a family. You're right- am still very much in the baby bubble. I'm trying hard not to be a baby bore but not succeeding very well Grin

I still don't know looby's ds's name- pleeease can someone pm me.

IceCreamCastles · 01/07/2012 10:47

Thanks pickled and fleecy-that is a superb name!

AmberNectarine · 01/07/2012 11:19

icey I need that top, when did you get it? I'll be scouring eBay now!!!!

DonaAna · 01/07/2012 11:29

Thanks Pickled, lovely Italy-approved name Looby!

blossoming · 01/07/2012 12:56

Love your Narciso Rodriguez dona.

suburban · 01/07/2012 13:10

Congratulations Looby Thanks would also love a heads up on the name.

icey I very nearly bought the DP goldfish top it's really unique. Glad you enjoyed your night out. DS sounds delicious.

Amber Shame about the competition. A fold up mini stroller is the number 1 toy here and has been for ages. Even before DD could walk she liked fiddling with the wheels etc. You can also lovingly put new china face doll in the seat and allow your DS to run wild in the hope it might break....

Bloss That is so sweet and caring of your DS. Are you a scarf wearer? DP once gave me a hideous necklace with a marble heart shaped pendant that I wore under a silk scarf for an entire date.

Off to cornwall next week, I should be packing but DP and DD asleep on our bed so I am watching Dawsons Creek and about to compile an AW wishlist on Pinterest instead.

Hope your DS feels better soon Fleecy

MidnightinMoscow · 01/07/2012 13:19

That is such a pretty top Icey. Glad you had a good evening with DH, albeit short and sweet.

Suburban where are you staying in Cornwall?

Just made it in time to get home before a big rain shower. Took DS for a long walk after breakfast, which ended in him having a nap in the buggy, so I found myself trying on the animal print zipped jeans in Whistles. Not sure why, as I am on a spending ban. However, they are lovely, very subtle but a great fit. Hmmm...

suburban · 01/07/2012 13:35

Penzance, never been before. Have been to Cornwall lots before, but mainly northcoast, Padstow etc. Forecast is rain everyday so taking my new raincoat, but feeling a big glittery hunter shaped hole in my wardrobe.

Congrats on making it home before the shower, we have been caught out a lot lately, do you have a link for the jeans they sound gorgeous.

MidnightinMoscow · 01/07/2012 13:42

here they are, I think Blue has her eye on them too.

Penzance, lovely. I love the drive to there, great coastline. Are you in a cottage?

suburban · 01/07/2012 13:51

Oooh have just pinned them, like you say really subtle would be nice with a big jumper.

It's just DD and I going with my mum. She and my dad have bought a flat there and she wants to go and put on all the frivolous finishing touches she couldn't do with my dad around. She has a really good eye for interiors so it should be fun. We are going via ikea Wink. Am a bit concerned about DD in the car though, she has got the attention span of a gnat at the moment so any ideas for amusing a two year old are more than welcome.

blue2711 · 01/07/2012 14:06

suburban and mim I am definitely getting those trousers! I like the skinny black trousers with leather side panels too. Didn't realise whistles trousers fitted me so well.

suburban DS always enjoys travelling picnics, his favourite music (all from DH's collection, thankfully) and story CDs. Usually has a nap too. Good luck and enjoy Cornwall. Can you link your new raincoat. And which season of DC are you watching? Season 3 is the best! Has someon PMed you looby's baby's name?

here are the side panel trousers.

MidnightinMoscow · 01/07/2012 14:08

We invested in a in-car DVD player, as we do a 6 hour drive to DH's family on a regular basis. Well worth it.

AmberNectarine · 01/07/2012 14:14

Excellent idea suburban. Will definitely get a stroller, though it will be immediately comandeered by DS. Anyone else? Clutching at straws here!

blossoming · 01/07/2012 14:20

suburban, can I see your boards please?

suburban · 01/07/2012 14:32

Season 2/3, it's on a wierd free tv channel on saturday and sunday lunchtimes at the mo. V surreal watching and now thinking how young they all look.

Raincoat was a one off in the Topshop sale. A bit like Red's petite bateu one, but is red and lined.
In car DVD player v good idea. Off to Sainsburys in a mo for supplies so will look out for one. Have got an ipod touch, sadly no ipad so might put some apps on it for her.

Maybe a tea set amber or a handbag and a purse she can open up??

Still not head looby's baby name

blue2711 · 01/07/2012 14:58

Have pm-ed you suburban. I so need a raincoat! This wretched country and it's so-called summer!

DH and I are planning a holiday for next June already and fancy a villa in Tuscany / Umbria; can anyone recommend somewhere or a good website please?

Have also just planned our next little trip away. We have tickets for ladies' beach volleyball (!) and have booked lovely hotel and train tickets. Excited as it's a hotel I've always wanted to stay at and v near my old uni (UCL) - love that Bloomsbury / Soho part of London.

*its so-called summer! I do know how to use apostrophes, honestly, it's just my iPad that doesn't!
