Darcey's botanicals for curly dc's

Does anybody use this range for their dc's curly hair? If so what would you recommend? I've had a look at their products online but I really dont know what would be best to buy for my curly 4 yo dd.

do not use this - I use the "naked" range from boots for curly hair - makes lovely curls, both for me and DD (we are both very curly).

Thanks kaz. I've been looking at boots online, I can see the Naked curl taming cream but I couldn't see a specific Naked shampoo/conditioner for curly hair, so which one is it you use? Have you tried their orange lolly untangle me spray on your dd?

I'm thinking of trying the curly girl method & going without shampoo as I have curly hair too.

I usetheir range on my DD4, we use the daily cleansing creme, leave in conditioner and the pumpkin seed conditioner (which is really fab!) Its all quite expensive but it lasts a really long time, so definitely get your money's worth. The daily cleansing creme takes some adjusting too as it doesn't lather up so feels strange at first, but you get used to it.

we only use conditioner, hardly ever shampoo (i.e. the curly method kind if way?). the naked range does not contain silicone, my hair cannot stand this stuff.

did not try the detangle spray but the conditioner keeps her curls really soft and shiny. i often wet her hair between washes a bit and rub a teeny weeny amount of the conditioner in. her curls are much mre defined then (basically, i do with DD's hair what I do with mine ).

Oh! I had no idea there was shampoo specifically for curly hair!
I have straight hair,but DP and both DC have V curly hair,and I have no idea how to 'deal' with it.
DD's is cut short,into a bob,hers is sort of straight on top,but tons of ringlets underneath,DS's is pure curls,golden ringlets all over.

I have been treating it like my (straight,limp,oily) hair,and suffice to say,it's not going well....

What should I actually be doing with it?!

Can I add in the joy that is Morrocan Oil? After wash and between washes. Makes hair v soft and tangles easier to sort!

liberte for a start, NEVER brush curly hair! Get the tangles out with a wide tooth comb before you rinse the conditioner out. in the morning I squirt dd's hair with water & leave it to dry.

Google the curly girl method. I'm going to try it with my hair.

What is Moroccan oil & where do you get it??

This is a great thread an has given me some top tips! I have very thick, wavy twirly hair as does ds1. I'm actually having my bi-yearly trip to the salon tomorrow for cut and colour so will start new routine from then.

Morrocan oil, is an oil obviously that you can put on after washing, and I also use it on DD's hair between washes to help with detangling the dreadlocks she makes at night

I got my first bottle from my hairdresser. But after that have got on t'internet, Amazon and at a kind of stall thing in a massive shopping centre. It's not cheap, but as it's a pump on top and you just use a couple of pumps at a time it lasts well unless DD and her friends are making perfume and use it as the base note

hermione it's great to see someone else that doesn't get their hair cut very often! I last had mine cut some time last year, I always hate having it cut & end up coming out of the hairdressers feeling upset. My hair is curly & its a few inches above my waist. Yes it's a bit rats-taily at the ends but I like my rats tails thanks very much!

The only thing I have done regularly are highlights every couple of months.

Morroccan oil for curls all the way. I have very thick curly hair and can now leave it curly thanks to MN and MO! It's lovely stuff.

My hairdresser is fab and totally gets my hair, I've followed her all over the show! Her new place isn't great for kids though but we seem to have stumbled across a brilliant barber for ds1 though!

I get a full colour, mouse to brown, and highlights but they last 6 months ish.

Have just ordered a small 25ml bottle of Moroccan oil from beauty flash shop for £12.85. Also will go to Boots this weekend to buy some of the Naked range.

Argan oil is fab! Makes my coarse, thick, permanently tinted thatch hair feel so soft! £9.99 in Superdrug.

liberte no NEVER use a brush on curly hair! This is why lots of curly haired people don't get their hair done very often, hairdressers just don't know do's & don'ts of curly hair.

I am now armed with Naked conditioner, serum & curl cream & my dd has the jam sandwich sham/conditioner & the orange lollipop hair detangler - let the glossy ringlets begin!
