Can I wear a black dress to a christening?

I have a limited choice in my wardrobe because I'm pregnant and most things I own are too tight or fitted, but I'm only 10 and a bit weeks and don't really want anyone guessing yet.

I have a black shift dress, knee length with loose chiffon sleeves that is very nice and would be comfortable, but is it too funereal for a christening? Any thoughts?

I think it would be fine with colourful accessories.

Yeah, I agreed - it'd be fine with bright accessories.

I wore a long black maxi dress to a Christening last year and wore an orange cardigan over the top to brighten it up!!
