Advice wanted re Clarks trainers

Hi

I've just bought my 3 year old a pair of clarks trainers in the sale.

Will these be ok for him to wear every day for nursery (ie will they be good for his feet and durable) or should I buy him other school shoes too?

Thanks!

That sounds like a good start However it depends on whether children have access to the outside on regular basis. My nursery sends them out rain or shine and my DD needs plenty of stuff. Your might also need some wellies for rainy days, a lot of changes of clothes including raincoat. I've tried indoor slippers / plimsoles and they were really useful, but now my DD prefers her Crocs which are great. She wears them inside and outside, unless the weather is bad, and then she changes into her wellies. Sometimes she just runs around in socks. Indoors tends to be really warm and I've observed a lot of children in a state of undress as they get older they just take their own clothes off to regulate temperature.

Oh and label and sign everything. Otherwise it might disappear for ever.

DS's main shoes are Clarks trainers. He's 2.4, I'm sure this is fine.

Thanks both.

I have a feeling that, in theory at least, trainers are not recommended as every day shoes for growing feet but these are clarks fitted trainers so thus the question...

My boys wore clarks trainers as their main shoes pretty much all their lives - except winter! In winter they had boots - can't abide wellies!! There is nothing better for growing feet than trainers imo as long as they fit properly and are the right shape to support their feet. Even their first shoes were trainers/trainer type shoes as they both started in a five and a half!

Trainers every day = fine
The same pair of trainers every day = not ideal, ideally you'd rotate a couple of pairs to give them time to breathe.

If we ever get a summer then a cheap pair of Doodles or Velcro sandals would be a good addition.
