Platform shoes are NAFF

II have decreed.

I think they look very unstylish, great big lumpen clodhoppers. And not very flattering either. For instance Victoria Beckham looked OK at the royal wedding, apart from her ghastly shoes.

I have loads of pairs, but don't wear them any more, I think they have had their time in the sun.

Back to normal high heels with no platforms, I think.

I want to put platforms and fucking maxi dresses into room 101.

And Hunter wellies.

agree OP, but my shorter friends say I do not understand why they are such a Godsent as I am over 6ft without platforms.

I agree with Hunter wellies. Bad at festivals (festival fashion is NOT A THING, put on a cagoule and stop being such a ninny) and worse in town.

Chandon - when I was a teen, everyone wore platforms so shortarse me really had to wear them whether I wanted to or not. Now I'm older and wiser, I'd rather wear flats and stand on a stool

I like the chunky foot look. It's more flattering if you have chunky legs/arse and makes your ankles look more delicate. And it's more practical.

"Normal" stiletto court shoe things are what look naff to me. And even worse, those tiny little flat ballet-pump style shoes. Unless you have legs like breadstick, they make your feet look tiny and the rest of you enormous.

I look like a tool in ballet shoes - especially when worn with skinny jeans so I look like a golf club.

Kind of like those pink wedges. Not necessarily on my feet but as an object of art.

The platform court look is such a routine thing that it has the potential to look tired. But big, clumpy, substantial shoes (like my Hasbeens from last year) still get my vote. I feel much stronger and tallet when I am wearing them.

I am 5ft. Platform shoes are my friend :-)
