hair reconstructor help

I've been advised by a hairdresser friend to buy a reconstructor treatment for my hair. Hair is in a bit of a mess after having bleach highlights put in on what was already damaged hair. My hair feels awful now and been trying oils and moisturising conditioners etc with no effect.
After the recommendation, I bought a Loreal mask thingy and left it in overnight. I noticed a slight difference but not much. Time to call in the big boys I think and I wondered if you lovely ladies could give me some advice.
Please help me to stop my hair feeling like straw!

Aveda dry remedy restructuring condtioner. Go get a sample first (they have been generous with samples to me-non coloured hair). Its not cheap though. When I went to Aveda to buy it they asked if I wanted to buy the 'economy'one! It was over twenty quid hardly economy in value.
