Low Maintenance Short Hair Styles

Does such a thing exist?
My hair is really annoying me just now. It is about shoulder length and has a bit of a wave/curl in it.
I have neither the time, inclination or the expertise to be doing anything fancy or complicated to my hair.
I am in Oz, so it is winter here and cold in the mornings. I need something that is quick and easy to maintain and doesn't make me look like a boy (DH's words). A short hairstyle will be cooler in the summer too.
Does such a style exist? I have an appointment on Saturday for a revamp so ideas are much appreciated.

I had very long hair, had it chopped into a bob and find it is far more work involved to look 'decent'. At least with long hair I can tie it up do for that reason I regret it. I am tempted to go fully 'short', more pixie like as I think it suits me (had it like that years ago) but I'm too scared. It still seems like one cut too far right now ...

Good luck Smile

I'm in the same predicament really. My hair is past my shoulders and wavy/curly, and I am fed up.

I am also scared of the work involved in shorter hair styles - I don't have the time and am sure I would look like a haystack, but something needs to be done with it.

I wear it tied up usually - it's easy (and boring).

Snap, scotslass (I'm sure you're not manky). I also wear my hair up, don't know what else to do with it. I am also shedding hair at a rapid rate of knots. Between me and the 2 long-haired cats it is getting ridiculous!

I'd need to spend 40 minutes with straighteners every day to get that look.Grin

And then within half an hour the waves would be back and I would be looking like I had just got out of bed!

I have wavy/thick hair and got it cut like Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors, 10 years ago. Every time I grow it long I regret it and chop it again. The layers get rid of the curl, and keep it managable, and I can girl it up with pretty clips. It doesn't need blow drying for the first 4 weeks, and I can put a little product in and go-

Sick I've always loved that haircut, I had it years ago and wonder why I never kept it....

mankyscotslass · 19/06/2012 16:57

See, I love that haircut, but it still screams work to me - I only get about 20 minutes in the morning to shower/get ready myself, and that hairstyle still screams lots of work.

Maybe I should just shave my hair all off! Grin
