We're going to a wedding next Sunday. I'm going to recycle the (non-bridesmaidy) bridesmaid dress from my sister's wedding last year, but I need to style it for a June wedding.
The dress is a purple LK Bennett dress, which is very similar to the davina but with a slightly lower, square neckline. My sister accessorised it with opaque purple tights (so I looked like a ribena berry) and a pewter coloured coat (kind of Audrey Hepburn esque) because she didn't want anything revealing.
I don't want to wear a coat to this wedding, and definitely not purple tights. So how should I accessorise it (and make it a bit more summery)?
If it helps, I'm about 5'4, short, dark hair, blue eyes, pale skin (but with a greenish olivey undertone).
I don't want a hat or anything daft in my hair. I probably need a decent sized bag (ideally that can be used in day-to-day life afterwards) to cart around emergency toddler clothing changes and toys. I'll probably have to carry him around quite a lot too.
I have to wear flat shoes because of a health condition. I'd prefer not to buy new ones really, because finding something suitable is tough and so is breaking in any and all shoes. I don't own an enormous number of shoes though, which is the problem. I have a pink patent pair and a dark blue pair and some brown and not stylish birkenstocks and that's it. I was considering buying a pair of these for general wear too. (the pink pair are similar to this in style, but patent and a sort of fushia colour).
I don't want to spend a huge amount (the less spent the better), but I am reasonably flexible with budget, especially for stuff I can actually use again.
