Are M&S sizes really small?

Trying to find some knickers and it's saying for my hip inches I should be in a 24!! I currently wear 18-20

I have always found M&S sizes generous

No, I always find I am at least a size smaller in m&s than anywhere else bar Monsoon who are also rather generous.

I always find them big.

Big on me too. I shop there so I can pretend to be skinny.

I think the M&S clothes are generous, but the pants less so, I often size up on pants.

the knickers for me are the right size, the bras are another matter! i just ordered a bra and 2 pairs of shortie type knickers. very good value and so comfy - but the bra i had to go up a cup size for, the knickers however were spot on in my usual size.

I find other shops more generous than M and S. I think they suit more apple shapes rather than people with hips and bums.

When I say I tend to size up in pants, I mean in all shops, not just M&S.

knickers, jeans skirts - M&S are generous.

Agree with everyone else - I have always found I can get the smaller size (when I'm inbetween sizes) in M&S as they tend to be generous.
