"Going out" trousers

Given that I wear jeans most of the time, it would be nice to go out in somethin gother than "smart jeans". I do have some dresses and skirts but would like some posh-ish trousers. I don't generally like black trousers and have short legs (am 5'4" but with a long body) - but irritatingly not quite short enough usually to wear petites. So I am happy to have them taken up to fit...fairly pear-shaped and find it hard to get trousers to fit my low back without a belt. Has anybody seen anything likely out there?

I like the Gap cropped ones. Black ?45. Have Lycra in.
On me are 7/8. On you would be long

I have these ones and they're great for work and casual wear.

Oh yes I like those. Do they crease like buggery though, being linen?

They crease a bit but because it's not one block of colour, and they're kind of subtly different shades, the creases don't really show.
