HD brows- are they worth £25?

Usually tint my own brows & get a wax/thread for £6/7.
As I get older my brows are more sparce(not from overplucking- think just age). Now I pencil in & think I get a good result.

Everytime I get them waxed now I tell beautician to go EASY!! as I don't like thin brows but always, always too thin!!

If I fork out for hd brows will I get a better result (seeing as I already tint & fill in myself)?

I've only had mine done once but I do think it makes a big difference. I also don't like too thin brows so was really clear with the beautician what I was looking for beforehand.

I didn't think it was worth it, personally, because I have thick brows, but worth a try?

IIRC, they wax, then thread, then pluck, then...tint? Then use make up. Supposed to be seven steps and you end up with perfect eyebrows, ready for your HD close-up.

I paid £45 for mine (central London), so £25 sounds pretty good! I didn't have much to work with (been tweezering my eyebrows for the last 20 odd years) and they still managed to get me a really good shape and definition. Just thinking about having them done again about 4 months later, although I reckon I can hold off for a few more months. Would definitely recommend, although it sounds as though you might just need to change your beautician rather than going HD if you already tint and fill yourself

louise2011 can you tell me what tint you use and where you buy it, for at home eyebrow tinting, I've been wanting to try it for ages myself DIY.

Any handy tips?

I had mine done last week and was convinced I'd leave with a scouse brow. However, they are fantastic! The arch is beautiful and the tint is not too dark (and I am really ginger fair). The tint grabs hold of all the little hairs and makes everything look much fuller and more natural.

...the beautician didn't bother with makeup on mine as I got a good result without it. It was a tint, wax, pluck, trim and thread job.

Sorry to hijack but I've just grown my brows out cause they were getting a bit thin, this HD business sounds interesting. Can anyone recommend anywhere in London (pref west) that does a great job? Thanks

kiwijesta.... I have just been looking on the HD website, they have a salon location link you can use.... there are salons in Hammersmith, Notting Hill and Chelsea...

When you say they use make up, is it permanent, semi permanent or just for the day? Cheers

The makeup is just makeup. You can buy the pencils and palettes on their website and usually the salon sells them too. They're supposed to be very good.

I just can't see what difference it makes from having them threaded and tinted?

The difference is that they thread, wax, pluck and tint, so the final result is much more defined than with just a thread and tint imo. If you're happy with thread and tint alone though then I wouldn't bother. I decided to try HD brows because after years of tweezering them myself I needed a bit of expert help in getting decent shape and definition.

I still dont understand. Where I go, she always threads and plucks and tints. Doesnt beleive in waxing. Lots of places dont. the tint last at least a week and all for the sum of £12.

It takes fecking ages.

love them! see pics on profile for what they look like - they'll fade a bit as i've literally just had them done but i have naturally v dark brows so they have to be dark to blend in. £125.
