Convince me of the merits of a small - medium handbag.

Maybe a silly question but over the years my bags have got bigger. You know- glasses, sun glasses, water bottle, Kindle , and that's before I've even put in make up for a day out!

I now have a dropped shoulder on one side- not terribly so but noticed when I had sleeves shortenend. I'm also not very tall, so big bags look out of proportion.

I am determined to a) use across body bags only and b) use a smaller handbag.

I've got the classic Radley over body bag which holds very little as it's so slim, and looks odd if packed and bulging!

I am now on a bag hunt and have ordered another Radley- slightly deeper and bit more spacious.

Anyone care to share what essentials you carry around and manage with a small bag?
I am thinking I can par it all down to:

a small purse- not a wallet size one
a make up bag just for going out- basic essentials.
phone
glasses

Don't have young DCs so no issues with lugging stuff for them.

I have a small cross body Fossil, not sure of the design name. I love it.

Im able to put a big purse, phone, keys, lipbalm, painkillers, kindle and dummy.

Will try and find a link

This one, in tan.

In other news, just learnt how to post a link from my phone whoop!

I got fed up lugging a heavy bag - never a big one, just always seemed to weigh a ton, and pull down my shoulder.

So I switched to a tiny one. Its about 5"wide by 6" long and less than 2" deep.

It contains housekeys and carkeys (must have zip compartment for these)
Small change purse (size to fit folded £20). Card case. Pen, tiny notebook which has a few vital phone numbers addresses. Phone (which is a small nokia). Tissues. A couple of poop bags. Sunglasses. Lip balm. If I was going out I might add a lipstick and reading glasses for menu. A savlon wipe and a couple of plasters.

It currently weighs ~700g but there's more coppers in the change purse than there should be at the mo.

Thanks both- very useful. Fossil was on my list of have a look so if the Radley bag doesn't come up to expectations then I will have a look.
I've ordered the Radley Holloway if anyone cares, and the Stables- but Stables is smaller so might return.
I have a Longchamps Pliage, which is v light, and will use for days out when I need more stuff- but I recently weighed a Modalu bag I'd been using- and when full it weighed almost 2 kilos! It was a grab bag but why would i want to lug that around all day!
