Is It Possible To Clean A Leather Bag?

Hi.
I bought a beautiful soft leather slouchy bag from Jigsaw last year. But After initially spraying it with protector I did what I always do. Treated it very badly. And then the kids water bottle leaked in it,so big water mark too.
Is there any way that I can clean it myself? Wash thinking of actually washing it in the sink, it couldn't look any worse!

What colour is the bag? That will probably make a difference to how successful you are and it will get darker but if it is so bad you are thinking of washing it I dont supposed you are that bothered! [smile

I've tried the cream leather cleaner that you find in small pots in the supermarket but think there is nothing better than leather spray cleaner for horse tack. It gets the dirty off much better. Buy in any saddlers and follow directions. It also smells nice!

OK. It is on their website, North/South tote in mink. It is quite similar.

The Handbag Spa offer treatment and cleaning services, never used them but site looks good. Or have you tried some Collonil products on it yourself? The gel tends to clean stuff off bags, not sure it'll get a watermark off though?
