Miracle swimsuits, any good?

I am going on holiday in two weeks. Size 16/18 with tum and bum of fair proportion. Just wondering if it is worth even trying on the miracle swimsuits which cost a fortune??? Has anyone had good/bad results? Is it all hype?

I tried one on in TK Maxx as it was £40 and I had a couple of minutes to spare. It was laughable - a very strange shape.

I have found much better for alot cheaper.

No good for me (fairly slim everywhere except for a huuuuuge tummy) - just made me look odd. I've had better success with either normal swimming costumes but with clever patterns (eg white strips down the side to draw the eye away from the stomach) or try boots and sainsbury's miracle type costumes, which are both good IME.

Thank you. Just saved me lots of money!! Will search out something suitable tomorrow I am sure. Wink

Try it, for what its worth I think those thing just re-distribute the flab somewhere else, but see what it looks like on.

I just got a gottex swimsuit from TK Maxx, quite structured and does seem to pull everything in.

MooMinCow · 13/06/2012 22:18

this from Asda has been in the press recently. Not seen it in store but imagine it would be flattering on?

thenightsky · 13/06/2012 22:27

Oh my fecking god... I found an amazing one from Bon Marche for a friend who is size 16. £19.99. Its like a cute 50s style dress. Looks bloody awful on the hanger, but try on and give it a chance. Mate loves it and was overwhelmed in changing room with how flattering it was.

It's like a wee dress, but good cleavage support.

Hang on while I find link.

I have a few friends who swear by the Landsend swimsuits.

Loveleopardprint · 14/06/2012 08:50

Thanks guys. Don't have an asda or Bon marche so will trawl high street this morning and if not go online. Think my main problem is that I find trying on swimsuits quite depressing!! Ho hum.

Back from successful shop. Went down the swimsuit with little skirt line. I got two lovely ones with 25% off in Debenhams. One red with white polka spots and one blue and white flowers. Really chuffed with them. Grin
