I'm 29, oblong/long face and currently have home dyed very dark brown fairly long layered hair with side fringe. Looks ok but has been like this for ages and i would like a change. I'm treating myself to a cut and colour on Saturday and have been looking for ideas. I like the look of the one in this link but i can't decide whether i will get away with it. I already have to straighten my hair most days so not worried about that. Just whether it will suit my face shape. Its on this page 10th picture down - Long blunt bob with fringe. I'd be really greatful for some opinions :)

I like that hair cut - I am a fan of strong fringes - but if its not styled properly I think that it could have a tendency to look frumpy. If you're confident you can style it then go for it.

Thank-you, i've just been raiding photos to find ones of me with shorter hair and i think it will look ok. Good point about styling it though. I'm fairly confident i could do it. I'm used to using straightners.

I love it!

I've just had pretty much the same cut destroyed with some hefty layers :(

LOVED my hair in a long blunt bob - always rock a statement fringe, and it was easy to style and 'up-do' being all one length. Had to have layers cut in though as I'd really damaged it heat styling every day.

I'd say go for it, but it takes some regular upkeep. Make sure the fringe is chunky enough for full coverage, or as snowmummy said above, it can look a bit frumpy, get regular trims, and a pair of mini-straighteners or a very small barreled Denman brush (other styling brushes are available!) for the fringe.

I really like it and for a change you could have it half up for a more girly look as well as play around with the parting.
Loads better than the first photo!

Thanks, feeling more confident about going for it now! :)
