Ever since I was a teenager I have had problems with my skin. I am a sufferer of adult acne (the joys) which I am currently controlling with antibiotics.

However - my skin is so SO greasy. The only thing for it is to reapply powder HOURLY or I look like I've just dipped my head in a deep fat fryer :(

Please tell me there are other chronically oily people out there and that there is some secret I don't know about?! I have tried mostly every face wash but currently wash my face with natural soaps. I wear foundation every day but because my skin is so bad I feel I can't live without it! Vicious circle I suppose :(

Any ideas?

if you think it might be hormonal, have you tried Agnus Castus? I developed acne on my chin post dcs birth, had antib's from Dr which didn't really help but have been taking AC for over a year and no further breakouts. Skin is still oily-ish, I find Estee Lauder's face wash for oily skin v good, and their matte primer helps control the oil during the day.

One thing I've heard is really good at decreasing oil production is the supplement Saw Palmetto, often used to treat prostate problems in men. Might be worth investigating, but can have side effects so proceed with caution.

This is me to a T, mid 30's, greasy, spotty. I can deal with it, but my 9 year old daughter is now pimply. I don't want het to have the same spotty misery ahead of her, and I don't want her to get a complex. But I have no idea how best to help.

Any ideas?

I have greasy skin & hair. I am 33yrs old and get spots too although not terribly. I had a course of Roaccutane when I was about 23 and it dramatically improved the spots, only side effect I got was dry lips.

We are planning on TTC for baby number 2 soon but as soon as our family is complete I plan to try to go back on Dianette (took this throughout most of my 20s and think it did help a bit).

Overall I do think my skin is slightly better than when I was younger, but if anything hair seems to be getting greasier!

Have ordered some DIY sacylic acid facial peel stuff and just off to google Panoxyl 2.5 Aquagel now!!
