Help me with advice for a night out

I had loads of work and casual clothes but am going out next weekend for a casual dinner and then on for a few drinks and really don't know what to wear! I have a nice pair of flattering skinny dark blue jeans, but normally wear them with ballet pumps - can I wear them with heels? If so, what sort of thing?

Also, any suggestions for a top? I'm quite pear shaped and around a 12 on top and 14 on bottom. Very flat chested so I tend to need something that 'brings me in' around the waist (which is quite small in comparison to my hips!).

Budget for top is around £35 and for shoes about £50.

Can anyone help?? I've no idea what people wear for these sorts of things any more!!

What about some wedges? They are my 'go to' staple this time of year (despite the depressing weather) and would look absolutely fab with skinny jeans. Some great ones in shops at moment - try BooHoo, ASOS, etc.

Top wise, what about a tunic style top with belt at the waist or a peplum top. Olivia Rubin, darling designer of many a celeb, currently has a range with Dorothy Perkins...and many items there are currently on sale. Nice blush shell peplum top on there at the mo which should suit most people and can be dressed up further with a nice bling necklace.

Thanks Smelly (Grin). Some good ideas there. Will have a look for wedges and on the DP website for some tops!

New Look is also great for either shoes or tops.

I also really like Miss Selfridge for items bang on trend yet quirky enough not to be worn by absolutely everyone.

From sound of your shape, think a peplum top would look great and is just everywhere & very in at the moment.

Good luck!
