I am currently sporting MATTE BLACK NAILS, with SILVER GLITTER ON BLACK as accent nails on my ring fingers.

In my opinion this makes me currently the coolest girl in the school by roughly 39.33%.

Cat totally agree about the cuticle cream - definitely get some - and just persevere with the Nail Envy. Mine were pretty shocking a few months ago and I have been using Sally Hansen Diamond stuff on as a base coat and re-applying every other day plus using Sally Hansen cuticle cream every day and my nails are greatly improved In fact I have had to file them down twice for being too long They are at that point again so think I will need to do it again this weekend (and then maybe try the ombre nails).

cat I have crap nails too: they split and peel really easily, and I like them short. And I bite them. But this shall not stop me

So, currently wearing Nails Inc flesh/nude colour which is tres shiny and very lovely!

However cuticle cream nearly used up, so what would you recommend?
Actually....... Name your Top 5 must have nail varnishes or accessories

1. Glass nail file - surprisingly effective. Minimum effort maximum result.
2. Sally Hansen Base Coat - doesn't take forever to dry
3. Olive oil as cuticle softener
4. Vaseline around nails - As I always manage to paint the skin around my nails, then have to spend ages picking tiny flicky bits off.
5. Good quality top coat. IME you can get away with cheap nail varnish if you use a good top coat.

A professional nail/cuticle oil like Avoplex or Solar Oil is better than olive or baby oil because of the size of the molecules. The smaller molecules in cuticle oil mean the oil will penetrate your skin and nail plate rather than just sit on the surface......

It's not just sales hype to make you buy it!!

Managed to get an appointment with my lovely nail lady this lunch time, and am now sporting shorter nails, still acrylics though, with yellow, orange then red in three strips, and little black flicks at the edges.

I'll post a photo later. Even the other ladies at the salon were admiring them, and wanted a photo, but they didn't have a camera, so I'll send them a photo too, when I take it :)

I,ve redid them.

I have a turquois that I'm not mad on so I did navy, then navy with a hint of sparkle and then halfway the turquois to the tips. Its gone a lovely colour and really stands out from the darker colour.

I'm currently rocking Butter London Yummy Mummy (cringe) but its a nice colour and I got it cheap. My current faves are Aspen and The Mall from Nails Inc. I will be looking for some of that there Fantasy Fire, though!

I love BL Yummy Mummy too, but also cringe at the name!

Today I am wearing a Models Own Purple Grey (can't remember what it's called) with Essie Shine of the Times over the top. It looks quite quite amazeballs.

What I really, really, really want most in the whole world is a bottle of Cult Nails Unicorn Puke

Just googled Yummy Mummy to see what it's like and came across this which I love (would do it with slightly smaller half moons though). Would also stop the taupeyness of Yummy Mummy making me look like a corpse!
