Ho dear me yes indeed. Oh yes.

I am currently sporting MATTE BLACK NAILS, with SILVER GLITTER ON BLACK as accent nails on my ring fingers.

In my opinion this makes me currently the coolest girl in the school by roughly 39.33%.

Plus also I used a piece of kitchen sponge - I reckon a make-up sponge would be LOADS smoother, I just didn't have one.

Also also - be prepared to get your fingertips utterly coated in nail varnish. This is the real downside - you then have to spend ages getting the excess varnish off, which then risks your nails, and is v. drying...

I will try for a pic later - anyone know how to upload from a phone? I can't seem to do it.

But also I am thinking that navy blue and gold would look looooovely, non?

LUCKILY the weather is still shitey so I can stick with my exciting magnetic dark colours, and not have to spend one million dollar on new colours.

S&B costs me so much money! Got matt top coat today. When my current polish starts chipping (nails inc Cumberland Street) I'm thinking of a matt & gloss French mani with rouge noir. What do you reckon?

whiter - that is exactly what I am going to try tomorrow! Thought I was good at nails - always do my own - but have realised I am an amateur...only one colour at a time, glossy top coat. I reckon Rouge Noir with silver tips would look good too

Have realised my nails are pretty basic compared to all the wonderful ideas on this thread.

I've recently been getting mine shellac'd, but since moving away from my lady, i've gone back to doing my own with 'normal' nail varnish. Its chips so quick though. I did mine last night - chipped today already! Also having to change the way i do them as bump is starting to get in the way, usually i sit on the sofa with my knees up, holding the varnish between my knees and leaning my hand on one knee. Struggling to get my legs up now, so sat at the table yesterday - it went ok, a little more practise and it'll feel right i'm sure.

Loving some of the OPI colours, think i'm gonna look into getting me some of those. :)

Met friends today BF asked why i had different coloured nails.

I have sacked her from BF duties.

This is just about my favourite website (after MN of course).

I love getting parcels of pretty colours through the post and the nice lady sometimes sends me sweets for the DCs so that's OK, even though my German is a bit pants.

After reading this all thought Id get me some matt top coat. Ds was with me and said I should also get the black polish. and a sparkly new one. .

I am now wondering if he has been reading this tgead

Am goung to be black matifying with a glittey arccent tmrw. Or I might do a sparly mezza luna with the rest of the nail matt black.....

I read this last night and was champing at the bit to do my nails, however thought I'd be sensible and wait till today.

I have done some gradient nails in pink and purple! Looks great, and after several experiments was actually pretty easy to do.

Water marbling next - although I had a go at that today and it was insanely messy and difficult.

Right, does anyone have any hints or tips on how to do that lovely matte black manicure linked back on page one of this thread by JodieHarsh? I've got the mattifier and a spare afternoon....

wink I'd paint the whole nail black, 2 coats and then top coat the whole thing with the mattifier and then run another coat of the black or a glossy top coat across the tips like you were doing a French manicure.

I was all over Boots and Superdrug but couldn't find any matt black

I got a ordinary black in Poundland, its a Rimmel and 4 metallic polishes in Primark because one of them was gold flakes, altogether 5 polishes for £3!

coco it's not matt black it's a matt topcoat by Rimmel you paint over normal nail polish.

Well, I've had a go at ombre nails. I've still got to pick off clean the edges a bit more, but I'm rather pleased with them. Pic on profile.

I went mental today and bought another 5 polishes. FGS. This thread is bad for my wallet me.
