Emerald rings

Some people think emerald engagement rings are unlucky. Any thoughts? Must say 2 of my friends had emerald engagement rings and they have had very tough(emotionally) times

My engagement ring sounds v. similar to yours, glastocat - I've worn it every day for 24 years and it's not scratched or damaged at all - never take it off, so it's got wet too - never heard that about them being easily marked/soft! (married 21 years this August so definiely not unlucky! My mum also has an emerald engagement ring and she was married for 48 years til my dad died)
