Nice Flat Shoes?

I can only wear sensible shoes - flats that have laces or a buckle fastening. I live in Converse, FitFlop trainers, etc. but I really need something a bit more formal. I have a couple of pairs of Rieker and Clarks shoes (Mary Jane style) that do me for work. What I really need is something to go with:

this sequin dress on the left

I've considered wearing it with black opaques and black flatties?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

what about some black patent brogues? i have some patent charcoal brogues from aldo, which have a bit of a sparkle off them, which i think would look good with that dress and opaques. not sure its the time of year to be buying shoes like that tho
