Having fallen for (I can't believe I'm writing this) a Lidl eau de parfum, I'm wondering what other budget busting copies or just stand alone products I've been missing out on?

Astral. Slap it on my neck and have the neck ofa 20 yr old even though am 46.

Collection 2000 version of Touche Eclat. Never gets stinky unlike the YSL one and costs about £3. Grin

Apparently the Aldi skincare is v good but haven't tried it.

FunnyLittleFrog · 05/06/2012 06:22

I LOVE Nutrogena's face scrub and oil free moisturiser - better than anything else for combination spot prone skin.

gregssausageroll · 05/06/2012 07:53

The Aldi equivalent of ysl is just as good.

sassytheFIRST · 05/06/2012 07:56

As a true mnetter, I still love waitrose bottom butter as a moisturiser for everywhere. Yes, even on my face, though needs an on top.

raininginbaltimore · 05/06/2012 07:59

Aldi mascara. Much better than anything else I have.

whereismywine · 05/06/2012 08:02

Rimmel Hide the Blemish for spots, applied with a brush with a bit of powder to fix it. I've tried all sorts of high end ones but came back to this a few years ago and I'm sticking with it.

BikeRunSki · 05/06/2012 08:05

Loreal kids shampoo in the orange fish shaped bottle works brilliantly on my thick dry hair.

Boots curl creme great too. Big tub for about £2.

MavisGrind · 05/06/2012 08:17

I use Aldi moisturiser, the Q10 day cream and night cream. Used to use clinique but can't tell the difference really.

duvetheaven · 05/06/2012 10:06

Lubriderm is a great moisturiser. I bought a pump dispenser thingy which lasted about 3 years! I bought it in the US but not hard to find with an internet search.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 05/06/2012 10:22

Radox - lots of bubbles for a pound or so!
Revlon nail varnish - much better than the expensive ones I've tried.
Garnier Hydralock handcream - smells funny but not half bad for the price (I save Clarins or Aveda for a treat!).
Benetint isn't cheap but it lasts forever, so works out quite good value in the long run.

whitelillies · 05/06/2012 10:24

Ponds cocoa butter - everywhere ! It s a fantastic moisturiser
Vaseline - lips, dry skin patches etc
Johnsons baby oil and eye make up remover

hermioneweasley · 05/06/2012 10:24

Baby oil as a body moisturiser

MorrisZapp · 05/06/2012 15:02

I got a big tube of Veet sensitive hair removing cream in the pound shop, its good stuff.

Exfoliating mitts instead of tubes of scrub.

hellswelshy · 06/06/2012 07:49

Aldi undereye concealer, does the job for less than a fiver! I second the Rimmel hide the blemish, love it! Excited to hear about the Aldi mascara....i may try that:)

PrincessPinotPartyPants · 06/06/2012 09:31

Shea butter - massive tubs from L'Occitane for ££ or from Amazon for £. Use it everywhere - hair masque left on overnight (no doesnt stain pillow), lip balm. eye cream, eyelash strengthener, face cream, body moisturiser, cuticle cream.

I daresay it would do the washing up too if I asked it. It's just superb.

belledidlovesebastian · 06/06/2012 10:26

Nivea. I've tried every moisturiser going including Estee Lauder's £150 stuff in the gold jar and nothing moisturises as well as Nivea.

At 40 I've got very good skin without many wrinkles and I put this down to using it. I don't go anywhere without the stuff!

whereismywine · 06/06/2012 11:02

Belle I used a creme de la mer sample once. It felt and smelt just like Nivea!

cybbo · 06/06/2012 11:09

-Aveeno dermexa for face and body...best moisturiser ever
-Sleek makeup pallettes (Superdrug) practically free with good colour pigmentation
-cotton buds for blending eye liner
-MUA eyeshadows(Superdrug) surprisingly good colour pigment for a quid and I sometimes use Urban Decay eyeshadow primer to help hold it on
-Nivea suncream for body, very moisturising and smells divine
-Johnsons baby gel, smells lovely and really moisturises
-Rimmel wake me up concealor, good colour match with Chanel Vitalumiere (kind yellow, am quite sallow-skinned)
-Poundland/Dealz for makeup gems that are normally much more expensive in the pharmacy
-Superdrug hot oil cleanser, equally as good as the dearer brands though I dont use it every night as I have dry skin and it is a little drying if used daily
-Baby wipes for lifting stains off clothing, sofas etc...(yogurt/chocolate)
-Baking soda for a sparkling kettle and taps(off topic I know!)
-Barbra Daly Goodbyeyellow nail varnish, does exactly what it is meant to
-Primark for their control underwear tops, they dont budge!
-Primark for Summer vests, dont shrink and keep their shape about 2 quid
Will go see if I can think of some more.....LOVE these threads!!

48soon · 06/06/2012 18:56

Oh yes,Barbara Daly Goodbye Yellow nail varnish from Tesco's is really good stuff, well worth the £3.50 (ish).

Vaseline rosy lips balm (in small red tin) is very good - looks like a nice lip gloss to me!

DollyTwat · 06/06/2012 19:00

I'm going to save this thread!

My contribution: you can get big tubs of sea salt from the chemist cheap as chips, don't pay a fortune for the ones that accost you in the street
