Having fallen for (I can't believe I'm writing this) a Lidl eau de parfum, I'm wondering what other budget busting copies or just stand alone products I've been missing out on?

Yy to primark vests.

Pharmaceutical olive oil for dry skin.

whatlauradid · 06/06/2012 19:13

Anything from MUA, especially their nail varnish and a dupe of NARS' Orgasm for £1.
Aldi perfume for £3.99 that smells like Coco Madmoiselle (but £60 cheaper).
Cocoa oil from Poundland. Fab on dry ends.
A clear nail varnish as a base/top coat.

madmomma · 06/06/2012 20:16

all the nivea creams - day, night, soft -absolutely love them and swear by them
vaseline, obviously, for everything (gotta go against the grain though and say I find the pink one far less effective than the regular one)
aldi urea handcream,
herbal essence shampoos and conditioner - just as good as anything else I've tried and smell beautiful,
asda's own brand 3 blade razors and replacement blades

lololizzy · 06/06/2012 20:32

Vaseline in the little tin..I won't use anything else as a balm
Vaseline Intensive care lotion for just a basic everyday lotion for body and hands. In the past I've used it for cleansing and face moisturising too. I've fooled myself that I now need pricier facial products (due to being older), but the truth is my skin was better then..perhaps I should try it again, perhaps skin was just better when I kept it super simple

madmomma · 06/06/2012 20:34

Bucharest how long have you been using astral on your neck for? Joanna Lumley uses astral and she looks bloody good too.

planetpotty · 06/06/2012 20:36

Pound land fake tan mit - no more orange hands Smile

madmomma · 06/06/2012 20:39

pinotI have awfully dry skin on my legs but pre-dcs I used to rub a bit of oil on them after shaving then slap on that shea butter from L'occitane and I swear my legs were soft as a baby's bum for a whole week. That stuff is amazing! Must start doing that again.

Myheadmyworld · 06/06/2012 20:52

By far the best product ever is KTC coconut oil. Sold in a massive jar in asda for about £2 and lasts me for months and I use it for everything. Solid in the jar and as soon as u rub it between your palms it instantly turns into oil. I use it as a make up remover, face and body moisturizer, hair oil, lip balm and hand and cuticle oil. I have dry skin and seasonal eczema and this stuff is perfect! Also really strengthens hair, I apply it then wrap my hair in cling film for an hour then shampoo and condition as usual

pigsmightnevercease · 06/06/2012 20:58

Chapstick medicated. It's got menthol in it which gives a slight plumping effect, and it moisturises better than any other lip balm I've used.

Simple face wash. Better than Clarins.

Tresemmé Naturals shampoo and conditioner.

Chicinwellies · 06/06/2012 21:30

Neutragena swiss formula hand cream.
Rimmel concealer
No 17 pressed face powder
nivea
vaseline

Been using them all for years.

pudding25 · 06/06/2012 21:35

Boots Essentials Intensive Body Lotion for very dry skin.

Amazing stuff. I get very dry skin and this works wonders on body.

Exogenesis · 06/06/2012 21:38

Another for Aldi face creams here... Amazing. To think I used to spend £30 plus on face creams!!!!

Of and Astral cream, so very cheap but wonderful and rich a little goes a long long way!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 06/06/2012 21:40

Cetaphil face wash . £5 for a massive bottle. Have ditched my Elemis for it!

louwn · 06/06/2012 21:41

Got to second Rimmel Hide the Blemish concealer. Also like boots essentials cucumber cleansing wipes - love the fresh smell. Kiko nail varnish- about ?3, got mine in spain but think you can also buy online. Batiste dry shampoo is also a must have.

KateSpade · 06/06/2012 21:42

I must own about 20 Primark strappy vests to go under sheer things, i didn't know they did underwear ones, i will check them out.

My ultimate thing is L'Oreal Dermo Expertise Triple Active Re Nourish Milk. Oh.My.Days. It is the best thing i have ever used, it takes my make-up off a treat, not greasy or drying on my skin!

I also like the garnier face scrub in the green tube, (i haven't got one right now so can't 100% remember the name) It's got exfoliating beads & works very well.

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit moisturiser - Smells lovely!

littlemissnormal · 06/06/2012 22:00

Barry M nail varnishes. Less than £4 each and last for ages without chipping, loads better than expensive ones that I've tried.

Itsgottabebags · 06/06/2012 22:05

Nivea cream

Sudocreme- I stick this on my hands sometimes and use it when my hards are particularly dry

Itsgottabebags · 06/06/2012 22:06

2True nail varnishes at superdrug. V good for lack of chipping.

Himalaya · 06/06/2012 22:15

Boots Curl Cream

Myheadmyworld - I used to use coconut oil but I found it went smelly (rancid?) in my hair- although it was good for the condition once I've washed it off.. Do you ever get that?

I didn't know about primark vests - that explains the near riot over a pile of £1 vests I saw in there the other day.

ggirl · 06/06/2012 22:16

hand cream to defrizz your hair

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 06/06/2012 22:16

Marking my space to read this thread later Grin

Myheadmyworld · 06/06/2012 22:18

Yes himalaya agreed u don't feel it though if u just use it for a couple of hrs and use cling film (it retains heat and gives u a deeper condition)

Myheadmyworld · 06/06/2012 22:21

Oh for those near a beauty base (can be found in both Westfield London) they have a row of nail polishes for £1 every shade u can imagine seriously! They go on so smooth and don't peel or chip too quick fab! I used their liquid liners and lip liners would recommend them too

ProcrastinateWildly · 06/06/2012 22:36

Inecto conditioner is great for my curly hair, and has no silicone so is CG. Think it's about £2 in B+M
