Ideally to purchase online - would like them to be quite heavy and able to hold me in a bit.
Happy to pay a bit more for quality and durability
TIA

Forget H&M, just bought some from there and they were junk.

SugarBatty · 04/06/2012 14:15

I had some really thick jodpur style ones from river island ages ago and haven't seen them since so will be watchin this thread with interest!

yellowraincoat · 04/06/2012 14:20

Topshop had some decent really thick ones a while ago...my partner needed some for a costume he was making.

They seemed to be pretty good.

Apparently he's a woman's size 12.

CuppaTeaJanice · 04/06/2012 14:24

Select sell the best ones i've found, and they do sell them online, in lots of colours and two different lengths, 2 pairs for £8, and £4 delivery. They are pretty thick and wash well, and keep their shape for ages.

I'm always an advocate of non shiny sports tights.

More expensive but better made IMO.

heliumballoon · 04/06/2012 14:28

Isabella Oliver
I am wearing a pair right now and they are thick and comfy, and avoid that dreaded thing of going transparent when stretched. Easy leggings also look good.
Don't forget the MN discount.

yellowraincoat · 04/06/2012 14:29

Those look great, CuppaTeaJanice. And cheap!

I have a question. I am short (5ft) - how long/short do the leggings come up? If I bought the three quarter length ones, do you reckon they'd be normal length on me?

Sick of my leggings having to be folded up/tucked into my shoes...

CuppaTeaJanice · 04/06/2012 14:34

I always get the long ones, yellow. I'm 5'9" and they are ankle length on me. I reckon the three quarter ones would be fine on you, they'd end somewhere between your shins and ankles probably. Smile

yellowraincoat · 04/06/2012 14:35

Thanks CuppaTeaJanice!

Oooh 5ft9! I'm jealous. When I put on high heels, I actually feel like an adult and can find people in bars and so on.

Liveinthepresent · 04/06/2012 14:37

Thanks for speedy replies - like the sound of 2 pairs for £8 Janice but am also a fan of Isabella Oliver - wonder how different they are bearing in mind the price!

Flexes do fab leggings with built in tummy control and are the only ones I find that keep their shape even after copious amounts of washing. Got mine from Costco at bargain price if £9.99; the only leggings I'll buy now!!

janji · 06/06/2012 00:38

Sorry, meant to type flexees!!!

Liveinthepresent · 06/06/2012 20:46

Thanks janji they sound worth a try !

Boden. Wash really well, keep their shape, good length.

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 06/06/2012 22:17

Gap winter leggings are really good, have a dark grey pair and they wash really well, and are so comfy

cerealqueen · 06/06/2012 23:12

laRedoute do good leggings, cotton, good quality and keep their colour wash after wash.
