Best BB Cream?

DairyNips · 04/06/2012 07:26

Thinking of trying a BB cream, mil wanted an idea for my birthday so thought maybe she could get me this. I didn't realise so many different people made them! Which is the best out of the more affordable ones? Is the No7 or the Garnier one any good?

Recommendations please! Smile

I recently bought L'Oréal nude magique and love it although many of the online reviews for it are poor and recommend the garnier one

DairyNips · 04/06/2012 07:44

Hmm ok, thanks. I shall take a look at that. I saw the Garnier one was recommended by Mn swears by..

I've been using the no7 one for a few weeks now, it's lovely.

DairyNips · 04/06/2012 08:24

Ooh I have a £5 No7 voucher, I could give her that towards it..

Btw, which no7 one did you get? I notice there's one for dry/normal/ oily skin.. Not sure what my skin is Confused

I bought the no 7 one for normal/dry skin. I love it and haven't used my foundation since.

DairyNips · 04/06/2012 10:58

I see, will have to take a look at the no7 one I think! Smile

I found the garnier one quite greasy. Maybe it's because I have quite oily skin, but it felt very heavy to me.

Also, I am pale like a ghost and even the lightest one looked orange on me (not an issue if you aren't really pale, obv.)

ChippyMinton · 04/06/2012 11:10

I'm trying the Nude Magique one. Impressed, but I haven't tried others to compare it with.

DairyNips · 04/06/2012 11:10

yellow thanks for that, I am very pale and my skin can be greasy in places so think I might steer clear of that one.

I have the no7 light one for dry skin. Its ok but the spf is low and I find it looks a lot better on when I mix it in with some factor 50 soltan face cream.

my favourite is a Korean bb cream called holika holika moisture. I picked this up on ebay for around £5. It is so good I have given away all my foundations and tinted moisturisers.

I have just purchased another variety (essential one) to try and I am going to give some skin79 ones a try.

There are loads of great reviews for the Korean bb creams and they are great if you are pale like me and sick of looking orange. Smile

yellowraincoat · 04/06/2012 11:26

Hmm, thanks for that CutItOut might give that a try.

nowahousewife · 04/06/2012 11:34

Thinking of buying one of these creams but a bit behind the times with beauty products; can anyone explain to me what these bb creams are please?

CutItOutAndRestart · 04/06/2012 11:41

lots of info on bb creams here Smile

IRunWithScissors · 04/06/2012 11:43

I have tried Garnier free samples - too greasy/orange
Nude magique - didn't like texture and found it difficult to build up coverage (because you have to rub it in to get the colour particle bits to 'pop')

Currently using Superdrug own brand. Not perfect, find it works better on slightly dry skin, but still it's my favourite.

Will try No 7 next!

AmazingDisgrace · 04/06/2012 21:55

I'm using nude magique and really like it. I've tried the No7 and found it a bit chalky. I liked the Garnier but it was too orangey. I've just ordered a Korean one -Missha perfect cover which has hyaluronic acid in it, will report back

Chicinwellies · 04/06/2012 22:11

So I think literally I have tried them all. The top three for me, in order

1 Liz earl (called skin tint but their advisors market it as bb and its amazing
2 Loreal nude magique
3 no7

Hated the Korean ones I tried, all so pale and think and grey. The dior bb cream was fab too but so so expensive . My skin type is combination.

sleepdodger · 04/06/2012 22:19

I heart my mac one

Iatemyskinnyperson · 06/06/2012 07:39

I have the estee lauder one, it's lovely. I have the light and it's a bit dark though... I would describe myself as light/medium.
