Dd is getting a fair few isolated spots.

Washing with just water (assuming she actually does...) Isn't helping.

Should I start her with a cleasing product to help? Any recommendations?

Tesco does a brilliant range for teenagers called My Skin. It's really gentle and the instructions on the back are very clear. It's worth trying.

Quinoderm 5% will clear them up. I've had acne for 20 years, since the age of 11. It's the best and the cheapest remedy.

Try Freederm facewash. Quinoderm was far too harsh for my dds.

My 13 year old daughter has tried quite a few of the facewashes. Clearasil has seemed to make the biggest difference in clearing up her skin and keeping spots at bay.

Watching as dd (9 in October Shock)seems to have a really greasy nose which is starting to get blackheads.

You do have to allow your skin to get used to the Quinoderm because it dries it out and can make it red to begin with. My skin is very used to it now, and it gets rid of the worst spots in a few days. I use the Quinoderm face wash (I get it from amazon), and that stops them coming most of the time.

Cetaphil works for my DD.

Quinoderm is harsh, but it works. I find that Neutrogena is effective qand gentle. Can't remember the exact name of the cleanser, but it's a foaming wash in a clear bottlee, the wash itself is blue.
