no I'm not the bride, but as of yesterday, I am no longer the just a guest, I now have to get up in front of everyone and do the one and only reading of the service - budget now upped to £200!

It's next month and and am in a throws of a house renovation so time is tight. I am also a funny shape and need to try things on.

Shape wise : 5'6", good legs, broad shouldered, 12/14 bust, 12 hips, 14 waist (a true apple), small boobs, blonde. I suit strong colour block colours, green, teal, bright blue, turquoise (had my colours done), nothing flowery or pastely or wishy washy). Nothing clingy like jersey, I have a double c section shelf that no amount of running will shift.

But - obviously I want to look and feel fantastic!

Any ideas?

Thanks - sorry don't like the first one , think it makes even the size 10 model's bum look big. Don't think the capped sleeves on the other one are a good look on me either - accentuate the broad shoulders too much..

sp - sorry.

Do you have any rules you need to stick to for the church? sleeves, length etc.

V necks and avoiding cap sleeves and a big expanse of material across your chest works best with broad shoulders ( I blame the 6am swimming!)

So I tried on the Monsoon Claire dress today (thanks Collision). By chance I had also found it too. It looked promising but was all wrong - too much material at the chest and bust.

But I did try this monsoon dress on and the cut was fantastic - empire but not too much so I look preggers, not baggy round my small bust, really very flattering. Much nicer than the pictures.

Only issue I have the gold sequins - its just not my bag, again was better in real life. Not so keen on the back though.

It is a maybe!

Kaliko have some really nice dresses.

I like this one and this one
Well with in budget too, could put the left over towards a fab hat or shoes!!

Mombojombo · 03/06/2012 20:59

Oh so hurrah for this thread! I'm practically same shape (except beeeeeg boobs) and also have to appear in front of wedding congregation in July AND sept. Have 1 great dress but also have a never-wear-same-dress-to-more-than-1-wedding policy (thanks Facebook photos...) so nee another! Waroo!

everythingtodo · 03/06/2012 21:19

They are both pretty - the blue lace will make me look very broad though - all that material across my chest. Will try and take a trip into town and seek out the purple one.

Loved the shape of the monsoon one on - just a pity about all the embellishments!

This another kaliko dress would be good though not sure how forgiving the linen mix would be.

Also this one shoulders so not too sure if that would work dress is nice
