Are you meant to have this done at the same time as highlights and if so does it mean you're going to be all day in the hairdressers? Or can you have it done say a couple of weeks after your highlights? TIA

I have highlights then the blow dry two weeks later

You need to get your hair colored first then you need to wait a minimum of 2 weeks before the Brazilian blow dry as it uses chemicals too

My (new, and I never went back) hairdresser said that it was perfectly safe to do both at the same time. She said you just have to wait at least a couple of weeks between the two if you do the BB first, or else the highlighting will make BB pointless. Not sure if she was wrong or just rubbish, but both were done on the same day, and it ruined my hair. Most of my ends ended up split, my hair was grassy and really it was only smooth and non-fuzzy for a couple of weeks. I've now cut off a lot, and have been using expensive treatments to try and get the condition back to normal. For something that, in their words, "is completely natural and cannot do any harm", it was an expensive mistake in my case. It's highly unlikely that I would do it again, but if I do, never again both at the same time.

It's highlights then BB or BB-wait 2 weeks then highlights
Had mine done at Saks, but had the express where it's just blow dried in which lasted 8 weeks but was a third of the price

I know do my own using keratin kit from amazon - £27 squid and can either just blow dry or straighten as well

Key thing is to make sure you have salt free shampoo or it's pointless. Boots have a Morroccan/Argan oil one for£8

Sorry - it's "keratin kits" on amazon
My advice would be to get your hair highlighted in the salon and then get the kit to try at home afterwards ESP if time/money is tight
If you like the effect you can then decide if you want to spend more (time & money) getting it done in salon
But basically the highlights will remove the keratin treatment so always highlights first

Thanks. That's useful to know.

Chocolateteabag - can I ask a question please? I too have been looking at the ones on Amazon I am aware you should avoid the I ones with flomaldihyde (Sp?). Does your one contain it?
