My big toe nail has fallen off just in time for flip flop season! What can I do to make my feet look a little more human and respectable? Help!!

socks and sandals, it's so 2012!

That was my first thought but my 14 year daughter has sworn she will disown me if I go down that route!

Canvas shoes perhaps?

My sister (a podiatrist no less!) had her big toenail removed ages ago. She still wears open toe shoes, no one notices at all. She is super stylish and I'm forever jealous of how nice she looks!

AlfalfaMum · 02/06/2012 01:12

ouch! How did it fall off? Shock

Yeah, canvas.. Havianas do espadrils now, or I recently bought a pair of Toms espadril-style shoes which I think look summery and a bit cool in a laid back way (although some more stylish people here think they don't). I saw DD2's teacher (much younger than me) wearing an identical pair to mine this week, and I just know she's copying me Wink

Get a beautician to glue a false nail on. I endured a summer of closed shoes last year before my beautician told me she could do this.

Don't even need to go to salon. Can buy false toenails in Boots.
