Fat and Clueless

I need help :(

I'm 32, 5'7 and a size 18. I live in straight leg trousers (usually TU or George), t-shirts or 3/4 length tops from New Look and Fit Flops Blush

I don't feel good at all about the way I look. I'm trying to do something about my weight, but in the mean time I'd like to get some nice clothes for summer that will lift my spirits :)

What can you suggest? My main problem is tummy, I look about 4 months pregnant, when I'm actually childless! Big boobs, fat upper arms, legs are not bad so skirts/dresses would be ok.

I'm going to Westfield tonight. Budget approx. £150.

Bumping because I am interested too!

Dawndonna · 31/05/2012 16:24

I'm 5'6 and an 18. I have Fat face jeans, straight ones. Comfy and look nice. A few tunic tops from fat face/boden/seasalt. I have long skirts from Laura Ashley, Fat Face and Next to wear with fitted summer blouses, or belts.
Everything on the top half has some sort of sleeve.

LemonTurd · 31/05/2012 16:30

Thanks whyme2 and Dawndonna.

I'm not sure about tunic tops. I can't wear anything too tight on my tummy, but tunic tops can sometimes be a bit maternity?

I'll try fat face jeans. Never been there before, thanks!

Was going to suggest the Debenhams Personal Shopper service but then noticed you're going tonight. Another time that is a great option. I have similar issues and went there for the second time today and got kitted out for summer (while it rained outsideGrin)

LemonTurd · 31/05/2012 16:42

Thanks, northender.

Feel knackered, so I think I might go tomorrow now. Is the personal shopper free? Is there a pressure to buy lots?

What do people think of Forever 21? I've walked passed but never ventured in. Bit too young for me?

I'm not sure I like anything on the website tbh, seems a bit young and flashy for me. I am 35 though.

What about this site here

I've had a couple of nice things from here.

anniewoo · 31/05/2012 18:55

You are tall so can get away with the extra weight

polyhymnia · 31/05/2012 19:12

I'd try Hobbs personally.

madmomma · 31/05/2012 19:20

do you have a decent waist? what about a wrap dress?

northender · 31/05/2012 22:28

It is free and no I haven't felt pressured. If they're good at their job then the only pressure will be because you can't decide what to buy and what to leave!

LemonTurd · 31/05/2012 22:56

whyme - thanks for the link. I've bookmarked and will have a proper look tomorrow.

Annie - that's true up to a point. I'm way past that point Blush

Madmomma - yes, I have waist definition from the front. The problem is when I turn sideways Blush

Northender - Thanks, I will investigate Smile
